Excellent research - a must for any salsa music lover, DJ or record collector
This book provides a great perspective on Cali’s unique relationship with salsa, approaching from the angles of dance, music, geography and history. It unearthed mysteries for me such as why the Colombian boogaloo is faster than its NYC origins. It will make you want to visit Cali and the Féria! If you are a Salsa music dancer, music lover, DJ or record collector, this is required reading.I was sad to learn that the author passed away at a tragically young age. This book is a worthy legacy.

A Great Book!
This a great book about the city of Cali and its love for Salsa Music. I recommend this book for Salsa lovers as well as people that are studying the history of Salsa in Colombia. The author, Lise A. Waxer does a great job touching pretty much all the different aspects of the music. I hope one day this book will be translated to Spanish.
