Can I paint this corona unit to match the dark brown theme of my living room?

Yes you could paint this. It is stained pine wood. If it is varnished it is extremely light/ lacquered. It has a slightly rough texture and I think it would take on a paint coat no problem. I thought some of it was veneered but I checked and it is all pine. No veneer. As the unit has dark metal brackets and the pine has a lot of dark knots It might actually be ok as is as pine does darken over time. I would certainly get a second person to help fix facings I have ended up with a few small gaps at the joins , not terribly noticeable but if you can get the joins closer together it will be more sturdy esp if moving it about. Its light weight . I did not put on the curved facings preferred mine without. In doing this it does not affect the structure at all . They are cosmetic.
