Is the inside waterproof?

If anything it is water resistant. I don't know that it is 100% water proof, meaning, I wouldn't fill it up with water like a canteen and expect to not make a mess. :) It's definitely capable of keeping any spilled or discharged liquids under control as the inside is lined with a nylon pouch.
