Q: What is the actual beam? Is it a spotlight?

Narrow field but very usable and very bright. Love mine.

Q: Bl1815 battery compatible

I'm using a B1820 and a B1840, check with Makita.

Q: Is this product rechageable?

The DML802 uses removeable Makita18 volt batteries and recharging station. The light can work with the 1.5 AH (amp hour) to 6.0 AH batteries which give the same illumination but the higher AH batteries have longer discharge time. I tested My light with a 5.0 AH battery and it lasted nearly 26 hours before needing recharge. I personally love these lights.
