I researched a number of stone and other pans to see if one of the lower priced options would be a good alternative and decided to try the Caanasweis.Results. It feels like a professional pan weighing in at 2 1/2 pounds which gives it a solid feel. It sits dead flat and heats evenly. First test was bacon with all three pieces cooking at the same pace. Cooked hash browns with just a touch of bacon grease. They could be flipped with no spatula and browned perfectly.Finished up with eggs and wiped the pan spotless with a dry paper towel. Could not be happier.The wood handle is a big plus. Solid feel, no worry about burning your hand. It is smooth and easy to grip. My wife was a skeptic about the handle but said she loves it.Heat. No need to set the burner on high. I cooked everything at a lower temperature and got great results with much more control.Do not let the price fool you. I’ve used it a few times and it’s truly non-stick and you hardly need any oil. It cooks evenly and quickly at high heat without any sticking. It’s easy to wipe down and clean. I wouldn’t consider this light weight but it’s also not too heavy. I’m hoping this lasts for a long time as my other pans have chipped. It's still very new, but I use it almost everyday and it is so easy to hand wash it clean. BMy experience is that non-stick pans have a definite shelf life (some longer than others), and this one started out better than the expensive Calphalon that is losing some of its powers. At this great price, replacing it, when the time comes, will be painless. The wood handle is elegant, and it is riveted through the pan, not just screwed on.
