These bowls are awesome! I have several and love using them for everything in the kitchen.

I got this specifically for tempering chocolate, and it worked so well. The bowl is so light weight and performs perfectly. The size is just right.

This is a very lightweight stainless steel bowl. It is good for prep work when baking.

Volrath usually makes pretty Rock Solid products, like they're half tray, and they're Cooling racks. I was kind of surprised that this particular stainless steel bowl was thin walled. It's okay, does the job. But honestly, I don't know if this is a quality thing where they're using less and less material now to do the same job? One other thing I found interesting is that the mark on the bottom is painted on. It's not stamped in like other Volrath products. So kind of makes me wonder if I got an actual Volrath or not. It would be nice to see other people posting photos of the bottom of their bowls to validate if that is indeed a true product from this company.

Exactly what I was looking for to hold cooking ingredients, and sometimes act as a double boiler for small batches of hollandaise sauce, chocolate, or custard, etc — I already have a bowl with rubber bottom that I use for recipes that require my hand mixer. Some people have questioned the durability, but as I’m using mine in a home kitchen and just cooking for 3-4 people, it’s perfect. I would imagine that in a busier home kitchen or an industrial kitchen it would likely become dented in the fury of cooking and storage. However for our family it is just right. The moment I opened it, my toddler’s face lit up and he used it as a steel drum for about an hour, banging on it with two of our stainless steel reusable straws and on the kitchen floor. Not a dent or scratch resulted! Mommy and Toddler approved; gave Daddy headache.

I saw the review on America's test kitchen and it was totally accurate. I bought the 3 sizes and love them. very well made, easy to clean. Perfect.

This is a nice bowl, but the one I received doesn't have a 3Qt volume, it is only 2 Qt! I measured it by filling it with water. Yet the serial number on the bottom of the bowl is exactly the same as advertised for the 3Qt - 47933.
