I bought this with the intention of holding all my my larger gear on the back of my bicycle while I was touring. It turned out to work better than I had imagined it would. I had my rear rack with panniers, then on top of that I had my tent and sleeping pad on top of that. This tightly held on to both of those items and my open solar charger. The net is able to stretch to hold a lot of mass and can stretch a little more if you need to sneak anything out of it.
