Uncle Henry LB5 Smokey Lockback Folding Pocket Knife Brown, 6-1/2"

I bought 4 of these knives. Gave 3 as gifts and kept one. The fit & finish were good on 3 and excellent on one. The steel is not bad and sharpens easily and keeps an edge decently. That said, it does not match the craftsmanship of the old USA made one I have of the same model but for the price it is an exceptional value. Even comes with a well made leather sheath.

I got this knife to replace my expensive slip joints as a daily driver. I didn’t want to spend upwards 50 dollars for the similar buck 55. It’s the perfect size for edc pocket wise and looks like it will last a decent amount of years (if you don’t beat it to heck). I don’t see this knife cutting down any trees or splitting logs but it’s sturdy enough to get you through the day outdoor or indoor. The sheath fits right and the leather is stiff. After using the sheath for a while it’ll build character and get softer. This might be Chinese made and if you want to look for an US built option look for the buck 55 which is twice this price. No where on this knife does it say China made nor do I see much of a quality drop in its build. This is a perfect user for those who prefer the traditional style over the frilly modern folders.

The finishing on the knife is a little rough, but the factory edge is very sharp. Seems to hold an edge well so the steel isn’t bad. Perfect size for a pocket knife in my opinion. The sheath is good quality, if you decent to use it on a belt. Lock back is strong and there is no play in the blade yet.

I have ordered a number of larger Schrade knives. I really liked the LB7 "Bear Paw", nearly as much as I like my Buck 110. Well, this little LB5 "Smokey" is the LB7's little brother. It is a really nice size for everyday carrying if you wear a belt sheath. It's not as bulky as a 5" knife, but it gets all the same jobs done. Most of my daily use amounts to opening packages, cutting plastic ties, and other domestic/industrious uses. If you're looking to cut open a deer carcass or gut a fish, you might opt instead for the LB7 or Buck 110. But I just warmed up to this spunky little knife as soon as I opened the package. It is my carrying knife of choice now, unless I go camping or something, then I'll take my Buck. It is also small and light enough to carry in a side pocket of your cargo pants without weighing down your pants, if you didn't want to use the belt sheath. As far as quality goes, the wood grain on the knife I received is a very nice dark cherry finish with darker striations. All the metal bolts and end caps are smooth and flush with the wood handle. It opens and closes better than most other Schrade knives I have purchased from Amazon. I would recommend this knife to any adult who wants an easy-to-carry daily knife. It would also make a perfect gift for an older child/young adult as a first knife, as it is a manageable size for smaller hands.

Perfect little knife.. the most thin profile of any knife that I own. solid construction, great carrying knife. better than most cheap knives I've seen of like price... great deal. I highly recommend..

A new favorite. I’ve been using a smaller version of this knife for years. I think it was the same brand, but I cannot verify. It was a VERY similar design and I could not find any other knife like it except Uncle Henry. I decided to get the larger 2.8 inch blade. I had the smaller 2.2 inch one before that. The 2.8 inch is actually almost too big, but EXCEPTIONALLY useful and covers more of my needs. It is a bit more bulk in my pocket, but that makes it easier to find under my keys and other things. It was SUPER sharp and maintains that sharpness even with cardboard. I sharpened my last one about every 4-6 months. I have not had to sharpen this one yet and it is STILL plenty sharp after 2 months of more than regular use (new toy, what can I say?). This is my daily use knife for opening boxes, cutting odd items, and so on in the computer technician profession. I am VERY happy with my purchase and will likely purchase this one again when needed. I will even consider it for a gift to my friends.

The locking feature is easy to use and it works perfectly. The blade is extremely sharp.

ich wusste vor der Bestellung dass es ein kleines Messer ist. Bei Handschuhgröße 11 ist es mir fast zu klein. Bleibe aber beim Titel. Für dem Preis gibts aber Alternativen für die Hälfte. Also zu teuer.
