My First Book About Chemistry (Dover Science For Kids Coloring Books) Review: Great way to teach science! - The "my first book" series is a favorite in our household! These can be used as coloring books, or just as a science book for homeschooling or general learning. The concepts are easy to understand for elementary aged children. The illustrations make it fun and interesting. The concepts in the chemistry book include atoms, water, matter, metals, nonmetals, gas, chemical bonds, carbon, air, thunderstorms, minerals, cells, acids/ bases, what's in food, breathing in gases, sight, smell, DNA, dangerous chemicals, and more! I'm currently using this book with a 4th grader. The quality of the cover and the paper is acceptable. We own quite a few books in this series! Review: Great Kids science - Great content, great price and great for the young kids to get them interested in science! I give them some coloring pencils with the books too!

More detailed than would expect for a “1st” book
These “first” books are interesting, because they are called, “first” as if they are the 1st time a child has been introduced to the topic, and yet they are advanced as far as the detailed coloring. I originally bought the DNA one for my 7 year old & this one for my 12 year old, but the books only really work for the 12 year old. Would work well as an addition to a middle schoolers studies, if that student loved to color.

Beautiful book
This activity book is beautiful. The drawings and illustrations are incredible. And it is packed with tons of info to teach your kids the basics of chemistry. Just know that there are no experiments as I was hoping for.

Excellent Chemistry Coloring Book
This book goes through chemistry concepts that are advanced, but in such a beautiful and clear way, that even a first grader can understand it with some simple demonstrations and explanations. Case in point: I am a molecular biologist teaching this subject to my KG, 1st and 4th grader. This is the only chemistry coloring book I found worth buying that is available on Amazon. Excellent. buy it seriously

Book is Informative, Quality is Lacking
The book is very informative, with simply written information and great illustrations. However, the quality of the binding isn't great. My son was looking through it for the first time and most of the pages all fell out. The pages feel like what you would find in a workbook/coloring book. I'm going to try to glue the pages back in rather than return it, but I am disappointed it didn't even last one sitting.

6 year old kid loves it
I tell my kid that he is reading an 8-year-old book, and he feels like he knows something that his peers do not know. We read about one page a day, and it helps him grasp the concepts without overstressing his brain. I also use life examples and implore him to teach me what he learned after reading to me. He can now explain more about atoms than the "average" adult. I was able to use the book as a simple refresher. My last chemistry class was two decades ago, so I get a benefit as well. People compliment us when they see a 6-year-old reading about chemistry.
