WATANOSATO HANTEN (Cotton jacket made in Japan Kimono-style) Ladies'

I bought this Hanten as a gift and it was very well appreciated. When a gift recipient tried it on, it fit her just right and she felt it was light but very warm and comfy.

I live in this. It is pretty thick so I don't wear it out of the house as I would be cosplaying as a marshmallow. Very nice and cozy in the winter months. Feels like excellent quality, highly recommend!

I bought a Hanten jacket while living in Japan in 1992-1994. I loved it! Just right for wearing in the home. After 20 years, the lining was dry rotting. I couldn’t remember what the jacket was called. Tried Amazon and bingo! My only suggestion is that you go up one size to assure a good for.

Fits well and is very useful in the cold weather for an at home jacket It is a bit bulky but its supposed to be that way I think.

Bought this hanten for my sister's birthday. I am very happy with the quality of the stitching and tbe material. It is very authentic. I have seen hantens in Japan and they are not only difficult to find but are also quite expensive. I was very excited and pleased with the jacket. The fit is definitely NOT for someone larger than a U.S. size 10-12. I bought the women's jacket. If you are a larger size then I think looking for the men's hanten would be better. She loves it.

The item was not machine sewn and was just attached with some thread all along the inner lining. It broke at the top and the sleeves after the first wash. It smelled really bad when it first arrived but the first wash got rid of the smell. But the tread holding it together broke in multiple places. I liked that it was oversized and it was really warm but it's really cheaply made for an item that costs $80, not including shipping and tariffs. Which total around $130.

Very beautiful, quality product, with a nice color and pattern. So happy to have chosen this model. But for my size (168cm, 75kg), it is a bit tight and have short sleeves. The large size for women was not available unfortunately. But this hanten is very warm when it is cold, making me comfortable indoor in winter (lowering the heating). But to not use it too much, i keep it only for occasions. It is expensive but it is a traditionnal handmade item from Japan, so it is Ok. The shipping is costly (28$) and you may pay import fees. Kurume cotton is a high quality fabric in Japan and it has a special weaving. But in the back, you can see in the seam, the pattern was not followed, that's a bad point. Avout the delivery, be careful with Fedex as they will expect you to be at home, otherwise they will send the parcel in some Fedex place where you have to pick it up.

Item came with a really strong smell upon opening the package. Did not smell like typical new materials, but was quite pungent and unpleasant. After airing it out for a day and a half, there was a still a strong odour. Sprayed it with febreeze in the meantime as item has to be hand washed and laid dried. Will have to fully get rid of the scent before wearing. Fit is good.
