Especially liked the taller sides, which keep items from falling out. It has ample room for an assortment of items—glasses, hearing aids, rings, keys, etc. If you make an effort to put your nose close to the tray, it does smell faintly like leather. It is real leather, & leather smells like leather; plastic smells like plastic. My only issue was that I was able to only snap one of the snaps easily. The other 3 snapped with slight pressure from a needle nose pliers. We’re very happy with the tray and happy it was a made in the USA product. It’s a very good design.

I cannot rave about this product enough. I love everything about it. The quality is better than I have seen just about anywhere else. The color is excellent and really versatile. I really appreciate the fact that it is made in the USA. If you are considering other products in the category, this should be your first choice.

**Updated Review: I originally left the review in hopes that the company would get in contact with me since Amazon didn’t have an option to contact the seller. I ended up looking up the seller myself and was able to contact them through their website. They responded so promptly, refunded me the full price for my damaged order plus an additional $10 in good will, and asked for my address in order to send me a replacement. I think moving forward, anytime I find a small business through Amazon, I’ll work directly with them instead. This company was amazing in their customer service and I will continue to be a customer.Original Review: I purchased this large valet tray months ago for my husband’s Christmas present. Since it was a present, I didn’t take it out of the plastic and try it out (my mistake). The leather is beautiful and 3 of the 4 corners snap together and hold strong. Unfortunately one set of snaps is completely deformed and bent in, making it impossible to snap closed. I’m deeply disappointed my husband can’t use his Christmas gift, he was very excited when he received it.

My older son has one of these from another brand (made in Italy) and little brother wanted one for himself. It is very nice. I would have given five stars but I didn't realize the inside walls are an unfinished leather. The other one I purchased was more refined with both sides of the leather being treated and the edges are finished in black. This one appears more rustic which is fine too depending on preference. I would recommend!

The Xlarge tray is the perfect size for regular documents, its leather is thick and smooth and the color is beautiful.And best of all, it was made in the USA!
