My daughter is small for her age with a booty and her age suit fits her perfectly. Perfectly. This is our second of this suit and it's perfect for staying in place so she can focus on swimming. If your child is average to large for their age, I would recommend going up a size unless you try a speedo style with a very thin shoulder strap. When the shoulder strap is very thin, it's more forgiving for size.

My daughter loves her swimsuit. The fit is what I expected from a Speedo, they do tend to run smaller than other brands. The only thing I would change is how the sizes are posted, they use a different sizing system and it can be confusing to get the correct size.

These suits run small. My daughter is 9 and smaller than average. She is comfortably wearing a 12. The quality of the suit is great.

Order a size up, it runs small. But excellent suit for swimming pool, holds up in the chlorine.
