A Mixed Bag
Full disclosure, I am using Teams for this device and I know you can setup other SIP based services but this is based on Teams. I honestly hard a hard time trying to understand how these fit into the market especially when you have no camera unlike some of the Crestrons and with all the bugs and performance, is there really market? I purchased one as my company insists these should be provided to c-suite execs and I am expected to help solution and I do this in my own development tenant first. This is the second one I have bought as the first just started flaking out with constant screen refreshes after about two weeks out of the box. The replacement seems to be much better in that regard however the software was so old even Company Portal would not complete an Intune user enrollment so I had to fire up the web server and manually upgrade the thing. I can see why people hate these as the amount of work to make them work is obscene. Then, I ask myself why I have had to build all sorts of exceptions to my CA rules, enrollment restrictions which now require I manually register these devices into Intune when my Teams app on my phone and PC work much better plus I have video on each. I have talked to Microsoft product folks several times about all this and it sounds like they also understand how convoluted these are. I cannot honestly recommend these to anyone as they serve little value over what the Teams app already provides. Sure I am able to use this for meetings and hands free seems a little better but it's a pain to use my Savi with it and that is 95% of my usage. If you're using Android in your org, you don't have to compromise and enable DA mode if your an AE env which in 2023 is just nuts. Add the camera and I will reconsider it's purpose and might even overlook some of the shortcomings.

Good, but not needed.
The phones are good, but you don’t need them. Just use teams on your computer and AirPods. Everyone over 60 wanted one, but no one used them after 2 weeks. It is just a product to make your boomer employees feel like technology is not taking their job.

Revised from 1 star to 4 then back down to 2!
LATEST REVIEW SEPTEMBER 17 2020 Speakerphone function just doesn't work. Everyone complains, so you can't use it due to poor sound quality. Usually sound is just garbled. Then randomly it will be clear, but then super loud on the listeners end. They accuse you of screaming. I upgraded all ethernet cables to Cat6 and have 1G service, so I ruled out internet as an issue. It is a hardware or firmware issue. I'm relegated to pulling out my Jabra 510 for calls on speaker. The handset works fine. Using a headset works great. Since the speaker was a huge part of having this desk phone.... I would not buy. Shame on Poly for sending a phone initially with outdated firmware that didn't work with Teams. They knew it wasn't ready for Teams, only Skype. Then to have bad basic functions? I am avoiding Poly forever. Feel free to respond Poly! LATEST REVIEW SEPTEMBER 1 2020 The latest firmware update showed up August 30th 2020 on the Teams admin site....had to go look to find it (polycom website still doesn't show it available). After this update this fixes all my issues in my prior review. I now have a directory with names, a speed dial and favorites with names. The User Interface is much improved and now the phone works like it should. I still don't see names on my voicemails yet...but it may be there. Only issue I have now is the hand free speaker gets nothing but complaints from people I call. I can't ever use it as they say I am too quiet and sound like i'm in a tin can. I have not docked stars for this. I think this may be my router and cabling, so i'm going to look into this and get back to you. Since they sell a non-handset version...i'm imagining it can't be this bad...has to be something wrong with my setup. I would recommend this phone now. Learning curve is a bit steep for some users. Phone does work and has good basic functionality now. I am glad there's a 7" screen...can't imagine much smaller (like the CCX400). I would recommend the larger screen. I wish it had a send-to-phone function in Teams. I can't seem to ever find this as a device inside teams. I think this is coming with BToE software updates...but we'll see if it ever shows up on my Teams app. PRIOR REVIEW MID-AUGUST 2020 Not really a usable phone for Microsoft Teams. Call history and Speed dial only shows #'s and no names or descriptions. Supposedly this is in process of being updated with a firmware release (Microsoft released in May...it is now June and nothing for the CCX500). You also can't see a call on your computer and pass it to your phone...kind of the whole point right? Shows up as a device some places, but not others. Can't pass audio from a teams' video chat to this phone...this really ends up being a really stupid $90 VOIP phone with no Caller ID (but with a fancy touchscreen you can use while you're looking at your computer to compare your contact name to the phone number in your recent history. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE UNTIL THE FIRMWARE IS READY TO IMPLEMENT MICROSOFT "PEOPLE" SO YOU CAN SEE CALLER ID.

Not provisioned for Teams
I initially ordered two of these phones for Teams as stated in the title. Out of the first order, only one came provisioned for Teams. I returned one and ordered a replacement. The replacement AGAIN was provisioned for ZOOM and not Teams. I tried calling Poly to see if they could help (per the recommendation of Amazon) and they instructed me to hard factory reset the phone (restart, wait for the first Poly image and tap all four corners). After an hour trying this method, i finally got the phone to hard restart. It began booting and Teams started to show up on the screen. After a few reboots, it started do download ZOOM again. I was told by Poly to contact Zoom and have them release the phone from their systems. I spent another 15min trying to get a hold of someone at zoom but their automated phone systems wont let you talk to anyone without a having a zoom account first. I give up, take your phone back and do a better job at sending out the properly provisioned phones.

Buy a Yealink with Buttons instead.
Android operating system is too slow for Teams. Everyone misses having buttons. Everything on screen is too small, even for younger workers and people with excellent vision.

So laggy and buggy as to be unuseable as a phone
I really like having a dedicated desk phone. Prior to the Skype For Business shutdown, I had one that worked great. In a prior job that used a smaller VOIP provider, same. Then, we were all forced to Teams. This phone suffers -- and I think it's MSFT's fault, not necessarily Polycom's -- from feature bloat making its core feature unuseable. It's not a phone -- it's a weak, underpowered computer running a buggy Teams client. As a result, it's so laggy, and so buggy, that making and answering calls is essentially impossible. You press a button, and nothing happens for 15-20 seconds. A call comes in, and rings everywhere *except* your desk phone for a good 10 seconds. I've had calls come in and cause the phone to freak out so much it just restarted. I have completely stopped even trying to use it to make calls, and resorted to only using my desktop client. I hate that, and I hope that one day MSFT will get it's head out of its ass and work with phone manufacturers on allowing phones to be Just Phones again.

Worst Office Phone I've Ever Used
I've worked in offices the better part of 2 decades and this is, by far, the worst office phone. First of all a touch screen for an office phone may seem like a good idea, but it actually hinders your ability to quickly put in a phone number. If you try and search for contacts, it takes forever to get to the correct screen as the system is slow and cumbersome. The software is extremely glitchy and it's a herculean feat just be able to transfer a call to somebody. I get the Microsoft Teams wants to move away from physical phones and use headsets, but that's not always the best fit in an office. Our entire company is now using these phones and I don't know anybody that has has a positive experience. The Microsoft Teams software and the phones simply don't have a clear communication with each other. Avoid at all costs.

Absolute junk
These phones are absolutely horrible. They are slow, the firmware is buggy, the Teams app is buggy, tech support is non-existent. Poly blames Microsoft, Microsoft says that they don't support hardware phones and lays the blame on Poly. If you want a phone that constantly freezes up, reboots, and has delayed audio and touch response.... buy this.
