Inflate after you fill the bottom with 2lbs of rice. Blow up the top first then the bottom, helps if in that order. Has endured rough play in a pool, on a lawn, and in the house. My son weighs 36lbs and is 31.5 inches and it has been solid in all forms. Constructed VERY well for a soft "Pool chair" material that has not discolored on anything, has not leaked one seam, and has easy to use plug in the bottom to pour water or rice in. To get the "bounce back" effect, rice was perfect, DO NOT use water in the base. It is marvelous if you use rice. Here is why; It won't "pop up" or "bounce back" as intended consistently if water is used. Rice, no risk of leaks if in the house! Rice will dry it out after pool uses solid without mildew risk internally and prevents odor. Rice in the base performed just as well, if not better, in the pool. It's consistent buoyancy / a better center of gravity. Rice also is safe and a bit more durable to prevent skidding or drifting on rough play. After your done with the "Socker Bopper" thingy, you can use the rice in potting soil or something creative. UPDATE; 6/12/19 My son turning 4 now, and still going strong with this product. Son 44 inches now and 42lbs and tackles it, kicks, punches, and not one problem. Unreal good! RICE RICE RICE BABY!

Great stress tool

I was excited to give this punching toy to my grandchildren. I carefully followed the instructions, filled the bottom with sand, and inflated the top compartment with air. Within a few hours, it started to deflate. We searched for leaks, refilled it, and even used a soapy water solution to find where the air was escaping so we could use the included patch kit. Unfortunately, there were multiple leaks all around the red round top part where it’s seamed to the body. The leaks were right on the seams and far too many to patch. Extremely disappointing quality — it never stayed inflated long enough for the kids to enjoy it.

This has been a great toy for our two boys (5 and 2). It hold air really well and is really tough. In addition to hitting and kicking it, my kids have jumped on it and thrown it. The only issue we've had is that it developed a small leak between the air chamber and the bottom weighted chamber. We had water in it, and that water eventually leaked it's way into the air chamber which made the unit unusable because it would no longer pop back up when knocked over because the water was in the top chamber and would just flow to the top. We solved the issue by draining all the water (it took a while) and then filling the weighted chamber with sand instead of water. I figure that since the hole is probably very small, we shouldn't have any issues with sand getting into the air chamber. I also no longer have to worry about the bag rupturing and leaking all over the floor.

My four year old grandson loves this bopper he received for Christmas Unfortunately i have to return it because and it loses air and deflates whether he is playing with it or not. Disappointing.

This has exceeded my expectations. I seriously bought this for my son (3) expecting it to pop or at best slowly leak after a week of play. It has now been three months, which I know isn't long, but I'm still impressed because it is a blow up toy and I have had many last not nearly that long! It's been great for his imagination. It's been Zurg, Tai Lung, Dragons, football players, and just general bad guys (I really like that it is generic and not character specific for this reason). It also seems to focus this type of energy. Then, when the mood is less defensive, it's flopped on its side and it becomes a rocket, a horse, or a bed. That's another thing that surprises me. It's been punched, kicked, tackled, sat on, and laid on and it's still intact. Now, my kids are generally pretty gentle on toys but they still can exploit a bad toys weaknesses. I mean honestly, the kid is three and he is a boy. Also, I have a punching bag for fitness and I like that he will sometimes mimic what he has seen me do. One thing I do want to note, we filled it up with two pounds of rice. It would have fit more but this has been adequate for a sufficient back bounce and still light enough for him to easily manuver it. The height is great for him. It's taller than he is. So all in all,this is a fun toy and worthy foe.

This punching bag was the perfect price and size (42 inches tall) for my son who is 50 inches tall. I didn't want to spend too much money on a plastic inflatable punching bag knowing my sons would attack it as soon as it's up. It held up very well against my 6 year old son beating it relentlessly with his feet and hands for 3 hours when it first arrived. It came with a single repair patch in the event there is a leak which is a plus. I filled the bottom of the bag with sand I purchased at Home Depot leaving very little room to spare which had no problem bouncing back up after being hit. I believe if this thing stays down after being hit then it needs to be filled with more sand or water. If it's filled completely with water and still stays down then using sand will definitely bring it back up. Perhaps water gives it a different effect. The bottom opening comes with a plug and a screw on cap which feels pretty sturdy to keep the sand in. I filled the body with an air compressor which filled within a minute making sure not to over fill it. It has lasted 4 days of abuse off and on throughout the day without a spec of sand or air coming out. I just made sure to speak to my son instructing him not to sit on or hit the bag with any objects and so far so good. Well worth the money.

Needs to be filled with water or sand - ours did not stay inflated - fyi does not come with hand pillows - seems sturdy enough however it would not stay inflated and I bought for a gift so was beyond return window - I liked it enough to exchange it for another but I waited too long.

I have 4 little grandsons under the age of four and they all love these they punch them and even push them to the ground and lay on them. The whole time they are playing with them they are laughing and having fun.

I have purchased this product for my 4 years old daughter, after few days of use - the air started leaking from the bag. I had filled the bag with water in the below section and after few days - the water started getting leaking from the water section to the air section and NOW it is useless. I had shared my feedback with the seller but my return doesn't qualify for the return because I have used the product. I don't understand, how a customer get to know the quality of the product until it is used and defect is with the product that water started leaking inside of the bag rather outside of the bag. It was a useless product and bad experience. NO for this product from my experience.

Received it today, filled it up with water & air. (6pm) my 16 month old son used it for about 20 mins. He basically slapped it a few times. No holes,rips or tears from him. Came back 2 hours later & it was deflated. It was clearly leaking profusely. Should’ve listened to the reviews on Amazon about durability. Waste of time. I never write reviews but the idea of it is great just poorly executed. Don’t waste your time or money on this product. Seller needs to address quality control asap! Would actually give 0 stars if there was an option.
