I’d try more of a vest type that covers more body.. I guess you are trying to give it some exercise at 26 pounds.. good for you helping kitty.. but I think this harness would be too easy to back out of if kitty was to resist harnessing. **Q: Is the chest strap adjustable? The ribbon is thick and sturdy, the colors are vivid and clear with the patterns. in fact I thought it might rub rough on their underarms. I asked on here and was assured by people that they thought it was comfortable for their dogs and they liked it too. So I kept it and after having it a day or two, I bought my boy one too! He is about 12lbs and I got the Small. Fits him perfect, especially since it's highly adjustable. He pulls A LOT, but unlike previous vest ones he's had, it doesn't come up so high on the front, OR pull from there in a way that would collapse his neck. The print quality is good, though I'm unsure of the durability of the fabric used. If your dog chews the leash, you may want to consider a stronger option. The hardware seems durable, except for the clasp, which feels like cheap plastic.Overall, I think this is a good product for the price. It's cute, easy to use, and feels secure.I'm not a fan of how amazon shipped this- it was in the plastic bag with a table slapped on that barely fit. I prefer to use a retractable leash and have no use for a fixed length short leash. The harness itself however, is very nice. Straps are wider than I was expecting, but sturdy and not heavy. The daisies on the pink background are very girlie - love the pattern. I'm hoping that this harness is less choke inducing than some.
