## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do these float if they fall out?**
A: Yes and no. They have a hollow cylindrical shaft. If there's air in the shaft, they float. But if the shaft has gotten filled with water, they sink. So don't count on them floating, but you might get lucky.
For me they're a tight enough fit that they've never even hinted they were going to come out accidentally, though I do wish they were guaranteed to float.

**Q: Do these shape to your ear personally at all like Mack's sillicone ones? How long can you reuse them?**
A: They don't mold to your ear like Mack's. Y.ou could use them for a long time as you can clean them. I found them hard to insert and never felt that they were in properly. Doc's Proplugs were much better

**Q: How do you put them in? I am struggling to do so with my 7 year old**
A: They may be too big for your 7 y.o. They are made for adults, but my 11 y.o. can wear them. Note the right (R) and Left (L) marks. Grip the thin fin-like portion between your thumb and index finger and push the round cylindrical part into the canal with the fin-like part pointed upward backward and to about 10 or 9 o'clock on the right ear and opposite (1-2 o'clock) on the left ear. You should be able to see how the fin lays in the pina of the ear. If the external part of the cylinder stick out too far and pushes the plug inward especially when wear a cap, then take scissors or a utility knife and cut it off as short as you want. It really shouldn't be there anyway.

**Q: Are these plugs good for sleeping**
A: They are not good for sleeping. They are meant for swimming to keep water out of the inner ear. They don't block sound very well.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good protection with the added benefit of being able to hear
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 12, 2012*

I used to use Mack's silicone earplugs (the silicone blob that you form and fit to create an airtight seal), and while they are reliable, comfortable and cheap, they are so seal-tight that you can't hear anything. I needed plugs that let me hear my coach and keep the water out. These are just the thing! In fact, I was surprised that these work as well as they do. I tried Mack's Aquablock earplugs and they just kept falling out, so I was skeptical that these Tyr ones would work since they also don't form an airtight seal. I guess the pressure of the water against the series of "flaps" keeps the water out.I could see them maybe not work on a person with big ear openings (I'm an average-sized woman). But for the price, it's a small gamble to find out. Oh, and the little plastic case shuts securely and is small enough to tuck into my goggles case for easy access. Best of all, I can hear my coach AND keep the water out!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 30, 2012*

I purchased a pair of these ear plugs last summer. They do a great job in preventing water from getting into my ears. They are easy to use and I've never had a problem with them falling out. I agree with the description where it states that there is little disruption to your hearing. I've noticed that I can hear almost as well with them in as I can hear without them in, so that certainly helps especially when you're swimming with other people. I would definitely recommend these for anyone who gets swimmer's ear like I do. I use them in the pool and the shower and they work very well for me.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Durable product

Even though, I had issues of one ear plug staying in properly. Otherwise, I had no other complaints.
