I swapped out this music box for an old one and it worked great. I did have to purchase a little kit that lengthened the key but then it was perfect. I restored my grandmother's musical jewelry box and am so happy.

Once you have fitted the mechanics to your project, the sound will ring out just fine.

I bought this as a replacement for one of my granddaughter's music globes. She was very happy when I returned it with music again. It was a different tune from what it came with but she didn't care.

I have always enjoyed doing woodwork; I bought these music workings for making wooden music boxes for gifts. I gave one tonight to a seven-year-old friend and she was delighted with it. I anchor the music workings solidly in the wooden box. To me, it doesn't seem any louder outside of the box than inside, but tonight's recipient had no trouble hearing the music. Since I am a musician, I notice when music is not keyed precisely to the exact tones; other musical people who purchase this product may notice that a few of the notes are not on perfect pitch. As my children have always cautioned me, "You get what you pay for." For inexpensive gifts, everyone to whom I have given a music box has been happy with it.

The product itself is very good quality and the song is wonderful. The only problem is the sound is way to low. I don't know if you'll even hear it once it's placed into the project.That's why I gave it 3 stars. Unfortunately I won't be buying from this company again.Very disappointed.
