The Mask [VHS]

I was originally going to purchase directly from Arrow video however Amazon had this on a bigger discount so I went for it! I received it as advertised brand new and no damage. This is a great movie from the 90’s, especially if you’re a Jim Carrey fan (like me)! This movie was made for Jim Carrey because he is already so animated and the special effects enhance him to make a comic book character come to life! I would HIGHLY recommend this to comic book fans, Jim Carrey fans and also 4K cinephiles-this has film grain, colors are vibrant, and Dolby Atmos is bombastic (in certain scenes)! I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!

Funny classes movie.

The mask is Jim Carrey most funnest n best movie introduce Cameron Diaz to Hollywood scene . I love gangsta movies this kinda of one but with twist of comedy n action . Jim Carrey plays Stanley Ipkiss a bank accountant who had no life and always the nice guy but always down on his luck until he finds a mysterious mask transformed him into a green super hero who now fight crimes agianst a mob boss Niko and his men . And Cameron Diaz plays Tina Carlyle this was her first role . This film turned out become a box of gif success launch Jim Carrey career further as comedian actor . It had toy merch and even a sat morning cartoon and a video game n comic that inspired this film . This 4k version by arrows and pic quality better than standard dvd n Blu-ray we got years ago cause the color stand out and see skin tones on actors n actress and dark scene u can see it better and film grain look appropriate for the movie and this has audio track 5.1 or Dolby atmos track which brings the movie to life as heard it in theaters in 1994 and this has extra and behind the movie stuff . This 4k is smoking

Love this movie! The 4k transfer is really good, just as clear as the blu ray that I have of not a bit better. The colors pop too! Good bye! I really recommend it. The goodies that once with it are worth it too.

I'm so happy that this movie is in 4K. It's one of Jim Carey's best movie. All the extras included are worth it. Arrow makes the best cases for 4K movies.

The Mask was one of those childhood defining movies for me. At the age I was, I became enthralled with cartoons and the animation process. The idea of a live action cartoon was just enough of a high concept idea to get my little 10 year old mind excited!! For years I had wondered if cartoon characters really existed in our 3D world what would they look like? How would they be lighted? Would the squashing and stretching work and look right? Luckily the mask answered that question for me! The then almost unheard use of CGI in film making was used to almost astonishing affect in this movie. I still think for some reason that these effects are some of the best seen in CGI enhanced movies. Even for the "cartoony" effect that the film makers were going for, to see that they pulled the squashing and stretching effect early on is quite impressive. The film itself is actually very good. It ignited the careers of both Jim Carrey and the very stunning 19 year old Cameron Diaz. The actors bring "A" game to this film and that's really impressive considering it to be very early efforts on their parts. These are the parts I admire each actor for the most. The internal drama that Stanley Ipkuss experiences is fairly engaging because many people relate to feelings of inadequacy and introversion and sometimes the wish of somehow "busting out" and "letting loose" takes on surprising constructs. This movie offers one fantastic and fanciful version of that wish which we see manifested in the cursed mask of Loki giving its wearer the ability to physically transform into their subconscious character. Its one of the zaniest uses of psychological experimentation you'll find on film. Most of all it's a fun as all heck movie that's hilarious and quotable from beginning to end. It belongs in anyone's library.

This movie is very nostalgic for me. The packed special features have been great to go through. I'm addicted to these Arrow Video releases.

The 4K was a bit pricey so I decided to get the (Remastered Blu Ray) and I wasn't disappointed The IQ is Amazing - The Movie is well written the Special Effects are Incredible - Jim Carrey is at the top of his game - this is CAMERON DIAZ first film role (Gorgeous) and she can act as well - The Film Was Released in1994 - still holds up (Extremely well) Afterall all these years - well worth the purchase price!!

In my personal opinion, The Mask is one of the best comedy movies of the 1990s. It introduced the world to Cameron Diaz, and Jim Carrey let his funny guy out to make audiences laugh. HD restoration is awesome and the special features in this blu-ray are awesome. Not bad for the 1990s

Jim Carrey in der Rolle des Stanley Ipkiss ist einer meiner Lieblings-Rollen des amerikanischen Schauspielers. Ich schaue mir den Film sehr häufig und sehr gerne an, hatte ihn aber lange Zeit nur als DVD und nun habe ich endlich die Gelegenheit gefunden und die Blu-ray für einen sehr guten Preis zu ergattern. Ich bin damit sehr zufrieden und endlich ist der Film vollständig, was er auf DVD leider nicht war. Was hätte man so alles für geniale Fortsetzungen mit Jim Carrey in der Hauptrolle so alles machen können. Deadpool lässt grüßen. Gerade deswegen gehört der Film in die Film-Sammlung. Fazit: Ssssspitze!!!

Ein crazy :-D Movie aber gut.

Toda una joya para completar mi coleccion de superheroes. Llego en menos de 24 horas. La pedi de segunda mano para regalar y a venido como nueva. Me pedi una para mi y me la han mandado nueva toda precintada en un dia y que decir de la pelicula una joya para disfrutar viene con extras muy entretenidos. No creo que en bluray la sacasen mejor!!!
