Smp Selle Unisex's Drakon Saddle, Black, Medium/Large

After a dozen saddle purchases and extensive road tests the SMP Drakon has become the only choice of saddle. The anatomical shape is perfectly fitted to my body. The Drakon offers just enough padding when coupled with quality bib shorts for me to ride all day 6 to 7 hours and beyond without any discomfort. They look strange but are brilliantly designed. SMP offers a wide range of shapes, widths and padding thicknesses to suit nearly anyone. They also off a demo program. I called them and had then ship me several models. After riding each of them the Drakon was my clear winner. After sending the Demo saddles back they shipped me a new Drakon. I have since ordered a second Drakon for my spin bike.

Very comfortable saddle. No numbness on 100+ mile rides at all. Well made with real leather. Not the lightest saddle you can buy, but I can spare a 100 grams to be comfortable. Touch points (saddle, shoes, bar tape) should always be as comfortable as you can get, and be a weight weenie on the rest of the bike.

I’m a woman. I’ve been riding Specialized Romin Evo Pro on my road bike for the last few years. I like a lean saddle and it was fine for many years. However, I felt the lady bits could be more comfortable. They deserved to have a bit more breathing room instead of being stuffed into the not wide enough slit in my saddle. I tried this Drakon and the Dynamic. I decided this had just a tad more padding than the dynamic, but was still lean enough for my liking. Too much padding is not good. The open channel gave me the relief I needed in the undercarriage, the hammock style dip angled my pelvis just right for me.I’ve ridden it on a few 40-60 milers and in a power studio during an ftp test. It felt great, especially on the trainer. For me that was the true test. You’re seated for a long time with no relief out of the saddle and my bum and bits were the only thing I wasn’t thinking about. Just the pain of holding my pace for a sustained period.I get that it may not be for everyone, but it definitely relieved the numbness my lady bits were getting on my old saddle.

The perfect saddle is unique to each person. Having recently experienced some medical issues around the human side of the saddle, I was looking for something that would prove comfortable yet competitive. So in my quest, I ordered and tried 7 different saddles. Some fit well and felt fine but after an hour or so, the pains crept in. I don't have that with the Selle SMP. Granted, for the last 15 years or so I have been riding a Dynamic SMP saddle. But after my exhaustive and sometimes painful search, I have come back to a new Dakon from Selle SMP.

This is a great saddle. I purchased one for each of my bikes. I had some chafing at first but started to use body glide. Take some time to adjust the angle. Once you have the right angle it’s great. Also, for you weight Winnie’s, the is heavier than advertised but worth it.

The most comfortable saddle I have ever used. Period. Great for road or gravel bikes or Mt. Bikes. Quality product that will last for years. I have several SMP saddles and all are amazing.

Complete Relief!!! First off, I have been a mountain biker for years and have never had much discomfort or numbness. I am new to the road scene and I was surprised after my first ride. 35ish miles....Total numbness in the worst place possible. I was hoping it would go away soon but it didn't. I was worried, depressed, I didn't want to tell anyone about it. I had never heard of such a problem. I did a lot of research and discovered this saddle. I'm glad I did. As of this posting I have ridden several hundred miles with no more numbness. Worth every penny!
