Im on my 3rd tub this one is a totally different colour and texture i know colour can vary but this is extreme also why is the tub bigger

I’ve just got another tub and mine is also much bigger but irrelevant as it’s sold by weight. . Not opened yet so I can’t comment on the colour..

Please can you tell me how much standardised silymarin is there in this product?

Firstly let me confirm that there are no fillers in the Vet’s Advantage 100% all natural stone-ground milk thistle. And our product will contain slightly varying levels of Silymarin due to being a natural product, and depending on the conditions in which it was grown and harvested, much like forage varies. But I will endeavour to answer your question below: Two different forms of milk thistle are generally referenced: a) powder from whole ground seed and b) concentrated extract powder. The fact is that you need a lot less powder to get the same amount of the active ingredient (Silymarin) in extract form. Approximately five times LESS powder! So what does that mean? It means that Vet’s Advantage Milk Thistle has 5x more volume than concentrated extract, because the whole seed is utilized. However both have similar levels of Silymarin. You might ask, why not simply use extract? The reason is this: concentrated extract wastes parts of milk thistle that are still beneficial to your dog, and NOT using the entire seed omits additional beneficial vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in a whole seed. That’s why we prefer to grind our milk thistle, instead of extracting it into a concentrated powder. At Vet’s Advantage our milk thistle powder is quite literally stone-ground milk thistle seed with all their accompanying nutrients The dosage for Milk Thistle depends on the size of your dog so please refer to the table on the side of the tub. But for your information, one teaspoon (2500mg) of stone-ground milk thistle contains approximately 80mg of Silymarin with some minor variation per the cultivation conditions mentioned above.
