good quality, i'd do it again
i got these cowhide leather gloves for my girlfriend because i was hoping she was gonna be out in the pasture helping me clean up after the cows, and since she treats me so well she deserved some solid hand protection... and let’s be real, i didn’t want to hear any complaints about mystery sludge, questionable mud, or straight up cow poop getting on her hands... these gloves turned out to be a win for both of us... thick, durable, and comfortable right out of the package... she put them on and flexed her fingers like she was about to wrangle a bull... the leather is tough but flexible and surprisingly soft.. almost as soft as the lamb skin ones i have, and the reinforced palm patch means you’re hopefully not gonna wear through them in a week... plus, the adjustable strap actually keeps them in place and keeps dirt(poop) from sneaking in, which is a nice bonus when you’re wrist deep in pasture clean-up duty... if you’re looking for gloves that can handle farm work, heavy duty chores, or just protecting your hands from whatever nastiness life throws at you, these appear to be a solid choice... highly recommend for anyone who wants to keep their hands intact while dealing with the great outdoors... or in my case, to keep my girlfriend from swearing off farm work forever...

Great product
I bought these gloves because my yard decided it was a jungle, and frankly, my old canvas pair just wasn't cutting it. What I got instead was a protective barrier that I'm pretty sure could stop an aggressive badger. Look, I’m not saying I’ve been entirely responsible with these. Last weekend, I volunteered to clear out a patch of ancient mesquite trees that looked like they were specifically bred by Satan to draw blood. Every single time I heard that sickening *thwack* of a gigantic thorn hitting my palm, I braced for the puncture. But nothing happened. The thorns just seemed to get annoyed and snap off, clearly intimidated by the sheer density of the cowhide. These gloves are abrasion and puncture resistant in the way a tank is traffic resistant; they simply don't care about the obstacles. They fit great, too. I appreciate the adjustable wrist feature; it really keeps the gravel, mulch, and various spiders out of the interior when I’m digging around. Honestly, if you need gloves for simple gardening, these are probably overkill. But if you need to wrestle a thorny beast, pour hot asphalt, or simply survive your spouse’s intense DIY renovation plans, you absolutely need these. Five stars. I’m thinking about starting a small fire just to see if they hold up, though I probably shouldn't.

Bad First Impression, Better Second *Updated*
I've been on a mission to find a good solid pair of working gloves that'll last at least 2 months. I had high hopes for these but they let me down. I had never used WL gloves before and bought them from reputation and good reviews. When they arrived, I thought I may have found what I was looking for. They looked great and felt even better. Not only that but I had changed back professions from construction to professional driver again so they wouldn't be tortured to death like the many brands of gloves before them. I only needed these for opening and closing trailer doors, securing cargo with load straps and loading and unloading metal containers. Despite getting filthy over the last month and a half, they did well and I liked the ball/strap on the wrist. Just last week though, they split at the end of one of the fingers. The same weakness of every other glove is in these too. The stitching. It's not bad enough to make them unusable and I'm not going to toss them yet but I really thought that with this lighter duty work, these gloves would last longer. Not so and I'm very disappointed. So the search continues. I just can't believe I can't find a work glove that'll hold together. I've had them all so far. Leather, reinforced leather, pleather, cloth, reinforced cloth, cloth/leather hybrids, cloth dipped in rubber, name brand, generic, cheap, expensive, etc. Whether they look impressive or not, they all year in the stitching whether in the palm, side finger or finger tip. I'm open to suggestions (just not Firm Grip, I tried 3 different kinds of those and they all ripped in record time). 7/26/17 *Update* I decided to try one more pair of these since I found them for a good deal at my local store. I also hoped the last pair was just a fluke with the stitching coming undoneband I did like them a lot up till that point. We'll, these have lasted longer and no rips or tears yet. I use them 5 days a week on the job for many physical tasks and they're holding up just fine so I changed my rating from a 3 to a 5. We'll done. I'll buy them again if they hold up a little longer.

They are actually big enough for my huge hands! I used them today and they were fine. Time will tell whether they are durable or not.

Excellent gloves. The picture doesn't show the palm, but there is a second strap of leather right across the palm on the opposing side of the knuckles where the fleshy part of your hand meets your fingers. It helps a lot if you are doing a lot of rope work, or hard chopping with an axe or digging with a shovel. A genuine good product. I have owned 3 or 4 pairs of these over the past 3 years. They do stand up quite well, but I tend to go through pairs of gloves due to my extreme work. The pull strap makes the gloves feel far more secure and form fit the hand very well. The only improvement I could possibly see on these gloves is by offering them in different leather types. Buffalo and Deer Skin, which tend to be a bit more breathable than cow hide. As well I find deer skin takes heat a bit better than cow hide. I would LOVE to see these in different leathers. Even goat skin, for people who want softer gloves.
