The best 3D RPG terrain for your dollar.
What you see in the photos is three sets of tiles, plus various bits and bobs (Icons of the Realms Wall of Fire, Yawning Portal Beds & Bottles; Bars & Tables, a cusom sculpted gingerbread golem) Once you graduate from mats and paper maps to the realm of 3D tiles, there are three big contenders: 3D Printing/crafting, Dwarven Forge, and Warlock. - 3D printing has the greatest potential, but will also take you the most time. Depending on how you value your dollar, crafting your own tiles can be the most expensive of the three. - Dwarven Forge is amazing. It's also amazingly expensive, and rarely in stock. It is a luxury item for people with an unlimited wallet. - Warlock comes in at the perfect price point and level of ease. It is an attractive, durable, (semi-)affordable product that allows you to build dungeons in almost any shape you want. I say almost because some tight turns don't quite fit the way you want, and sometimes a slight edit is needed to tweak a published setting for the sake of ease of use. This is rare, however, and you can almost always find a workaround that still looks polished and attractive. The redesigned clips are a breeze to use, and the terrain holds together for any number of uses. There is a bit of "grey box syndrome" until you start adding furnishings - every dungeon will look the same: a series of grey rectangles. I highly reccomend that you rely on scatter terrain, either crafted or purchased, to liven up the rooms. My next purchase will likely be either the curves or the angles expansion to add a littl more variation to my grey rectangles. Overall, I cannot recommend these, and other wizkids dungeon products, highly enough. These are a homerun, and I encourage everyone to stock up, in case these ever leave the market like so many mini products of the past.

Not perfect, but still worthy of 5 stars
I love miniature painting, but with a full time job, home remodeling and a 7 mo old there's no time to paint. Enter Warlock tiles! They're beautiful, sturdy (I was surprised at the weight), and they lock together nice and snug. This box definitely provides enough on its own for a couple of good sized rooms. I do think that practically speaking you will want two or three of these if you have an efficient group in a dungeon crawl. Still, $240 (at the time of review) for an entire decent sized dungeon that's pre-painted with working doors is a steal in my book. I would say these are 4.5 stars. However I'm rounding up to help offset the already very negative reviews for something I believe to not be deserving. Pros: - Beautiful. Obviously a professional painter could do it better, but set it on the table and sit normal and there's no difference. Color is great, detail is great, and the tiles aren't all the same. The box comes with two 4x4 tiles and surprisingly I found they were not the same mold! - Efficient. No space is wasted. All walls are on the exterior or slotted between two interior tiles. You get 100% of the floor space here. - Sturdy. Build your rooms ahead of time and drop them in place as your players discover them. I connected about 10 tiles in a strip and picked them up by 1 on the end. It of course bent A LOT and I was scared, but nothing was damaged. And there's more than 1 place to put clips, so if you're very concerned you can use 2 clips per side (8 clips on a tile, excessive, but solid) Cons - My fingers were a little sore after pulling out all the clips. I may looks for a storage alternative where I can leave the clips in, or just keep pliers handy while building (per the manufacturer's recommendation anyway). -- I do want to address the negativity around these clips. 1) they're optional. Just like dwarven forge you can just set these on the table next to each other and it will work fine. You might want to toss a clip between tiles that have interior walls, but otherwise no issue. Also if you rock the tiles back and forth while manipulating them they pop in and out very easily. Also keep in mind they WILL wear down. They're plastic. Straight out of the box they're stiff but they'll wear down with time. - The wall length is a hair longer than the floor length. This can be remedied with clips and everything stretches and fits nicely in place. But while doing a dry fit you'll notice things don't line up exactly, which was odd at first. Ended up not being an issue in the end, but still worth mentioning. - Some of the pieces are not aligned well with each other. Something was off in the gluing process. However these still end up working fine as the plastic is malleable. So all of these cons are more quality concerns than practical ones. At the end of the day they work exactly like I want them too and I'm very happy with the product. I'm sure future iterations will be even better. I can't wait for angled and curved walls, and CAVES!

Sturdy and worthwhile addition to my game table
I love these. As a DM who preps possible encounters, they work fine. Yes the clips are tough to use, but snap them in one side at a time, using a pliers or the flat edge of a screwdriver, and you're good to go. The trade off for tougher assembly is a very sturdy build. They look great on the table and enhance our game. Looking forward to more.

Easy to put together.
First off these tiles are beautiful for pre painted. They are coated in two layers one black and then he next being brown or grey. People are complaining that it’s a little tough to put the clips in but i don’t think so at all. I’m 14 years old and some of these grown ass adults are complaining. It was so easy and my thumbs were fine after 2 hours of building. I love it. I’m going to save up and buy it again.

Passable, but too many pieces you won't use - no current way to get more of just what you need
1 - Since everyone's talking about the clips, I'll go over those first - yes, they're a little on the stiff side, but they work okay. If I keep the set I'll get the softer clips when they come out, but the current clips are fine. 2 - Quality. Very good, the pieces all feel solid and they look nice. 3 - Variety. This is decent, but there are only two "interior" doors, all the rest of the doors only work on the outside edges. If you're doing an extensive build you probably need interior doors more than the others. Also, if you're building out a dungeon with these you probably don't really care about outer walls, it's just a waste of time to add them. I do think outer walls are good if you want to make any structures you'll reuse, such as an important house or tavern, but using them isn't practical for "on-the-fly" builds. 4 - Playability. This is more a critique of using 1" squares - for ease of moving minis, interior walls and doors taking up space, etc, I find it much better to use 1.25" squares. Unfortunately this is not yet a wide standard, so this is not a problem created by this set. 5 - Expansion. This is where WizKids can help themselves and the consumers. I don't think most users will need that many exterior walls and doors, but what you will most certainly want (if you like the product) are more floor and interior wall/door tiles. It would be incredibly easy for WizKids to make small expansion sets that are just specific types of pieces, so you can get what you need - floors, interior walls, interior doors, exterior doors, outer walls, etc. It's not worth it to me to buy a second set like this, way too many pieces in the second set would go unused. However, I would grab up floors and interior pieces instantly.

Wonderful Product that opens your creative side
First, these are amazing for their price, I have been playing D&D for over a decade. I would have Loved having these back then, there are a few convenience issues that any you tuber can and probably has attested to (lack of curves, inability to have single square corridors) but Wiz kids have addressed that those will be coming in the upcoming years. This is a fun set, although I would recommend the EZ clips when they come out. My 6 year old daughter has fallen in love with these as well but the normal clips are too hard for her to put in. (I personally found using the blunt edge of a butter knife is the easiest for putting clips in) All that being said, there are some issues with stability of you only attach one clip between any panel. What I found I had to do to solve this issue was build an entire row of panels and then attach a clip to every panel in that row so that every panel had at least a clip on two different sides. I will be buying at least 4 dungeon tiles 1 sets so I can build larger dungeons, as a lot of the dungeons I am running now have lots of separate rooms in a straight line, where as one set is more meant for a bunch of interior rooms attached to each other with a decent wall on the outside.

Works amazing and is super detailed
The kit is pretty impressive. It comes with everything you need to make a dungeon of 3 moderately sized rooms that can be snapped however you like. The clips can seem difficult to use at first, however once you do it for a bit, it becomes super easy. I’ve bought three of the kits now (two dungeon and one town) and both are awesome! The level of detail with the paint is amazing. Even small details like cracks in the stone in the walls are incredible, especially when considering the price. What’s cool is that during the current pandemic, the tiles are super detailed enough for them to come up clearly using my iPhone camera for playing over Zoom

Great, affordable tiles
The tiles look great. They are a little tough to get the locks into place but they are super durable and it shows how sturdy the attachment is.
