Since it has three types of cutting areas, I have been using the other two, which have worked fine with boiled eggs. Biggest problem is that bits of egg slide between the white plastic surfaces and the aluminum liner and I can find no way to get them out. Nice smooth plastic surfaces and wires do the job on slicing eggs. Not sure how hygienic it is now with dried egg bits rattling around under the lining, though.Update: That was a few months ago, when I bought 2 of these. Today I peeled and shortened a cucumber and used my second tool to make sticks and the same part of the tool bent and broke the wires. ### ⭐ temporarily great *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2016* I have had this slicer for about 6 months and used it mainly for eggs-which it worked great. However in the past few weeks the wires have come out and there is no way to fix it. I also agree with the other reviewer that food does get caught between the sliver top on the inside of the slicer and the white plastic top. If you could remove the silver part that hold the wires you could repair this and keep it clean.
