Works Well
This travel dock works well and as advertised. It is smaller than I imagined and despite its plastic construction has a nice feel and weight to it. I already had the Targus Universal USB 3.0 DV Docking Station for my desk setup so I knew the DisplayLInk technology it is based on works well on both Mac OS and Windows, so with the drivers already installed this travel version worked straight away. When El Capitan came out updated drivers were needed because although the existing drivers still worked for most applications browsers didn’t display properly so a good tip is to ensure you get the most up to date driver from either the Targus or DisplayLink sites. The travel version doesn’t have the same number of USB outlets and is missing audio in and out jacks, but the plus is its size for travel and that it requires no additional power input as it runs off the power supplied by the computer USB cable. There is an additional micro USB DC 5v power input which is apparently for gear with higher power needs, but the manual doesn’t say much about this and only says the adapter is sold separately. I haven’t needed to test this aspect out but imagine any standard USB charger would do the job. I would recommend this product for use with data projectors etc with either HDMI or VGA inputs and for giving an ethernet option for machines such as Mac Airs that need multiple adapters to allow these connections. The additional USB 3 port it provides (one in reality as it takes one away through being connected) might also be handy.

Tiny Unit a Pleasant Surprise
This little unit was a pleasant surprise. I'd been used to a much larger docking station. This one did what I needed: it powered 2 large monitors with applications from my laptop. However, within a month I started having issues with it not working. Targus Tech Support was awesome, though, in trouble-shooting, and they've agreed to replace my unit because it seems defective. So, right now I'm without the use of the travel-size docking station, but have hopes that with a replacement I'll be back in business.

Works well without power adapter
Most docking stations have to be powered to do useful functions like support external monitors, which is a real pain because now you're carrying yet another power supply with some non-standard plug. First surprise was that you can power this hub with a standard mini-USB, no need to carry a special power supply. Second big surprise is that it works just fine without external power! Sure, it won't charge your phone, but it will allow you use external monitors and thumb drives. That pretty well makes this the perfect portable hub to keep in your backpack when travelling. Wish it had more USB ports but the small size limits that.

DisplayLink Compatible!
I used this to add a full-size HDMI port and extra USB 3.0 ports to my ultrabook to handle a portable external monitor. I was fearing that my PC would not have a driver to utilize the HDMI, but I plugged everything in, and it worked immediately and seamlessly. This adapter is indeed DisplayLink compatible, so it's plug and play... It has "DisplayLink" engraved on the device casing. I'm just emphasizing this as it was not made clear in the original description nor other comments.

flimsy
The usb cord to connect to the laptop is not long enough. thus it is always in the way

Works well and has all the ports I need
It's not the cheapest option in the world, and I've seen some smaller/sleeker products... but it does what needs to be done well. Laptops these days often don't have an HDMI/video output or even a physical network interface. This helps alleviate some of those issues. It's what you get when you want computing devices thinner and less power consuming.

Perfect universal docking station! Great price!
My laptop has VGA and HDMI ports but were too close together to operate 2 additional monitors at the same time. So i needed a universal docking station. For a name brand this is a great price and exactly what i needed. 3 monitor setup complete! Thank you!

the quality is extremely bad, and you will have to drop the quality ...
Do not buy this product. It does not support Mac OS High Sierra and later. Targus Audio also does not communicate or provide support to Customers. Myself and many other Mac OS customers have been reaching out to Targus Audio for months to fix this. You can simply check there Facebook, Twitter and Website page to see the months of request and feedback from customers on this simple problem. You will not get extended mode. The only mode it goes into is clone mode, meaning what you currently see on your laptop will be display on the projected monitors, the quality is extremely bad, and you will have to drop the quality to be compatible with the device. Also, today, the volume using the Targus Audio is no longer working, So it has no Audio, and no extended mode. The device Is worthless if you have an Apple Macbook. Do not waste your time trying to reach them because they will not respond to you.
