Great for visibility and useful as extra floatation for a bit of a break. The storage feature is useful as well. I put my keys in it while I swim and have not had any leak issues.

I am a proficient swimmer, training for my first Ironman. However, going out to open water by myself does cause me to pause and think twice. I just tested this buoy and now have the complete peace of mind. It worked well as advertised. I did not know that I was towing a buoy until I stopped and actually used it. It took 3 seconds to blow up and deflate when you are done. In the water, I was able to hold on to it comfortably and it kept me afloat nicely. Two points to note for new users: - There is a pocket for your key and things. Even after rolling the top shut about 4 times, a little bit of water got in. I had a zip lock bag and there was no problem but I don't know if I would put my phone in there. - A friend of mine on the shore observed that yes, people could see you but this thing is pretty small out there. So, don't assume that all boats would see you from a distance. I swim in a lake where no power boat is allowed and don't have that worry. I highly recommend for open water swimmers. The caveat here is that I have only used this product once.

I love, love this buoy. I live on a busy lake with lots of boat traffic. I wanted something to improve the visibility of me when I am doing open water swimming. I have tried orange swim caps but nothing feels as safe as this. It is wonderful. I can hardly feel it behind me and it easy to turn around for back stroke. I like the fact that I can also take a break and rest on it. Bonus — the floaty works great as a kick board. I have not stored anything into the dry sack as I inflate and swim right behind my house.

We just returned from a 10 day snorkel trip and used this everyday. The items inside(2 phones, room key, small wallet and car key) were kept in a ziplock bag and then inside the dry compartment. Every time the bag came out dry. The inflatable part was very helpful for us to find each other when out in a more open water area by ourselves. I'm so thankful we had it for our trip. Others asked about it, wondering where we go it and were a bit jealous. It packed so small that it could easily go in our luggage.

Brand new and lost a noticeable amount of air during a short, 20 minute swim. Did a squish test in water: was able to deflate it some but no bubbles. Mystery to be solved…

I was surprised with how easy this device is to swim with. I was concerned with what seemed to be a short tether, but it is a good length - as I never noticed the buoy while swimming freestyle. The 15 liter size provided sufficient buoyancy to comfortably rest - I weight 200 lbs - muscular build, didn't have a lot of Items stored in the buoy, and was wearing a wetsuit. When the water warms - I'll test it without a wet suit. The storage area is large, but will obviously reduce air volume / buoyancy if stuffed full. The storage area is also not watertight, so you will need to put electronics in a zip lock bag.

The swim buoy works great, easy to inflate and fits well, does not interfere with my swim stroke. Most importantly it can be seen easily by boaters and from shore. My family appreciates that they can keep an eye on me on shore during my open water swims. I have not tried storing any items in the provided small storage compartment.

Inflates easily and doesn't have any noticeable drag while swimming. The dry bag area stays dry although I don't put anything in it. I did check for water and I wouldn't hesitate to put something I wanted to stay dry in there but I would use zip locks as a backup. I left the durability blank as you can't really tell much after just a few swims. It seems well made.

Got this to use when I swim on my own on the lake near my house. Gives me the confidence I needed to increase swimming distance AND be more comfortable (I am an intermediate swimmer working on my technique). It is very easy to inflate and use. I was worried about getting tangled when swimming but the buoy does not get in the way at all. Gives enough buoyancy if I want to rest for a bit and in an emergency it likely can be used for rescue (although it is clearly not intended for that purpose). The visibility is a huge bonus (there are a few boats in the lake where I swim). I have yet to use the pocket but it seems large enough to put a small towel, the wallet and one or two keys. Construction is solid and packs relatively small when deflated. I am very satisfied with it. Highly recommended. Update (a year later): still working great. I have now used the storage space to take my cell phone with me (quite often).

No more leaving stuff on the beach! I'm free to go off and explore, and take as long as I want! The dry bag area holds a surprising amount without even vaguely struggling (my usual list is hotel key, money, t-shirt, sun screen mobile phone & portable hard disk). Also you'd think that the belt might cause chafing, but I did a 3-hour+ swim yesterday and I have no marks at all. A extra bonus of carrying your mobile phone with you is you can use MapMyRun to record your swim using GPS. Groovy! Update after a couple of months' use: No defects, still super-useful, probably around 30 swims now. Particularly handy if you need to stop somewhere for a drink on the beach! Update after 6 months: I used this thing every couple of days in my 5+ months in Thailand, and always without a problem. I even loaded it up with drinks one time for an 8-hour marathon swim, and it coped admirably. Update after a year: I recently dug out my swim buoy over a year after purchase, this time for the Philippines. 6 months in a bag didn't seem to have caused any ill effects, so it was back to business as usual. A great purchase.

Se infla sin ninguna dificultad, es muy sencillo de usar. Necesita una bolsa estanca pequeña para las llaves, porque puede entrar agua, pero caben unas abarcas dentro, para poder salir entrar en una playa, y salir caminando en otra playa. Muy cómodo, muy útil y visualmente muy vistoso, de gran ayuda para nadar en mar abierto.
