I hike dusty, dirt trails with my dog and I need my sneakers to be water repellent with morning dew, or wet grass after rain. Ivalso need it to repel the dust from the trails. So far, so good. It is not odorless. There is a chemical smell during and after spraying. Even after it dried a few days later there is still the chemical smell, BUT, I have to press my nose up gmagainst the fabric to smell it, otherwise it is not noticeable. My neighbors probably thought I was weird because I kept checking for the chemical smell after I sprayed, and intermittently while drying....lol. I like ceiling the seams and then spraying it with Scotchgard. It's gentle enough that it doesn't hurt the material, and it's super easy to apply. You can tell from the photos I took that it dries completely. I took up before photo and then after photo to show what it looks like dried. It doesn't change the appearance of the fabric at all. I had enough left over to treat a couple of chairs on the deck, and the cushions stay pretty dry too.
