Locals Hawaii Unisex Original Flip Flops Slippahs

This is, of course, a flip-flop so not much to say, right? Well, there's more to it than you might think. Straps are firm and fight. I've had a lot in this style that just sort of randomly slop around but these are firmly affixed. This is a well-constructed shoe. Many flip-flops I've tried have the problem that the side straps are too close to the side of your foot so you end up stepping on this large knot of plastic with every step. Not so here. The straps are in the right place to actually be comfortable. My pair isn't quite broken in yet so there will be a bit of initial discomfort but I don't expect this to last long. Like any sandal, there is a brief breaking in period. Straps are very clear, the only complaint is around the logo on the top that's painted on. Would prefer that just not be there. In summary, great product and well worth the price. Everything you could ask for. *** UPDATE from two years in the future *** Structurally, these are STILL in good shape. I'm impressed. However, the straps have gone rather yellow so I've bought two more pairs.

Locals make the best rubber slippers for the price. They are sturdy but lightweight and they tend to last a lot longer than other brands. I bought my first pair in Hawaii years ago. Over time they do eventually wear out, but I always replace with another pair of Locals. I tried buying other brands, but they just don't hold up--the sole compresses, the thong between the toes breaks after a month or two. Locals will last a good year or two (and I wear mine all the time). One note on arch support: If you need serious arch support, look for different sandals. These are just flip-flops, but they still have good cushioned soles, in my opinion.

Fit is a bit tighter than the last pair I bought. Maybe next time I’ll order a size larger.

It was a little tough figuring out what size to get. I'm exactly a 5 in ladies. I got the 9.0" because the next size up said it was for ladies 5.0-5.5, and I knew 5.5 is usually too big. Well, next time I'll get the next size up because, although these fit "perfectly" they are almost too small. Other than than, quality is great!! Happy purchase, but would like next size up next time.

I bought my first pair of Locals when I had a flip-flop blowout when on the Big Island. The shop we were in had this brand. I've been wearing them ever since. They last a long time and are a great price. Even though they don't offer arch support, which I normally need and require in a slipper, these get the job done! I brought a pair on a recent tropical vacation along with several other pairs of daytime summer shoes. I wore these for the whole trip. They go from beach to walkabout really well, and amazingly, my feet don't hurt at the end of the day after getting in plenty of walking. I wear a women's size 9.5 and buy the women's 9-10/men's 8-9. They fit perfectly.

I’ve been wearing these sandals for years. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box.
