Miracle patch for scripture page!!!
I was so heartsick when I tore a page! I really did not know what to do. I thought of regular tape, then I remembered seeing old tape yellow, harden, and fall off; leaving the original tear still a problem. Then I found this archival tape online. I am so glad I did!!! Pros: * First, the tape did it's job. The tear is repaired well. * The tape is thin like a scripture page. The weights match. * The end result is perfect! I can't see the tear unless I look for it. I can't even see the tape on the page! Cons: * It is difficult to tear the backing off because the tape is thin. * The tape rolls up sticking to itself as you tear the backing off. We had to have someone hold the tear shut while someone else put the end of the tape down while pulling on the tape in order to cover the entire tear. A two-person job. But, it really worked well! * There are yellow dots of glue, as other reviews have mentioned, I think to hold the circle of tape to itself in shipping. I really didn't care because I just needed a few inches of clean tape. I would purchase this again!!!

Worked great on a Bible page tear. See HINT for removing backing.
I repaired a 1-inch tear in a Bible. It worked perfectly. It is not 100% transparent, but if you are taping something that is close to white, it might not matter. The typed print through the tape is a little muted, but definitely still easy to read. I put tape on both sides of the torn page. For me, two keys: 1. I wanted something that was STRONG. 2. I wanted something that would not YELLOW. HINT: Many are having trouble getting the backing off of the sticky side. I used an idea someone wrote in a comment. I used a sharp push-pin (could also use a sewing needle, or something similar), and used it to carefully pry a corner of the backing off of the sticky side of the (very thin) tape. Takes a little patience, but I did 4 pieces using this method, and it took less than a minute for each one.

Good product
At first I had trouble separating the tape from the backing and I almost gave up. Then I read some of the other comments and figured out what to do. I creased the taped back and forth a couple of times until I could see the transparent tape separate from the backing, then I pulled them apart. Worked like a charm. That said, the tape is nice. It holds the torn page together and I could reposition it when I had to without damaging the page.i like it.

Paper lantern repair
Not the easiest to peel off the backing but that’s due to the thin paper tape material. Worked well for Akari paper lantern repair.

Perfect in my bible
It becomes almost invisible. You can tell that it's there when you rub your finger across the page and see it but it not obviously noticeable. Been holding up to my constant turning of pages. The thickness isn't too bad. It's easy to use once you figure out how to get it separated from the backing. Works wonderfully in my study Bible.

It's great to have the right tool for the right job!
Purchased a 1930's movie poster that was very brittle and had cracks and tears in the paper. I googled the proper way to repair these issues and it strongly suggested this archival tape. I purchased a roll and it worked wonderfully. My only advise is that you need to use this on the back side only despite that after using a credit card or other burnishing tool, it does not make this tape 100% invisible. My poster had lots of graphics and color and I inadvertently used a piece of tape on the face of the poster at the top. Now, I'm the only one that will notice it since now the poster is matted and framed professionally, but at a certain angle, if you look closely, you can see that piece of tape! Otherwise, all of the rips and cracks in the paper where I had to use tweezers to piece in those spots and use this archival tape, they are perfect! You can hardly see where the blemishes are! Do your work in good lighting since you have to peel the backing from the tape and it is very very thin. Happy with the product. Have some left to do another repair job too.

Useless
I purchased this to fix a torn Noguchi paper lamp. I am a paper crafter, so working with tape and adhesive is something I do regularly. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to disconnect the adhesive paper from the liner. I should have gone with my gut when I read the bad reviews. I had finally was able to get a few pieces off and lined the paper lamp tear with the narrow paper. It held for about 2 weeks only and just started peeling off easily. I am not trying Micropore medical tape instead. Don't waste your $$.

This product was good for repairing rips in old paper. It is a bit tricky to get started and off the backing at times, but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad. The tape is thin but does what it needs to do. Unobtrusive and easy to apply.

Muito bom para pequenos reparos em papel, seja livro ou documento, muito bom para conservação e restauro de papel.
