Metal Isle of Lewis Chess Set Pieces

Very nice pieces. Heavy for their size. Attractive design and finish.

The detail on the pieces are very nice, however, the metal coating is patchy in parts, leaving the raw metal showing through. Would the craftsman had taken the time and the care to inspect his product, he would have noticed so many imperfections. I accept the set however, as it is nice enough to keep, but perhaps not enough to treasure.

The pieces are unique in apperance and I receive many complements. They are small but feel substantial and fit a 12-inch board perfectly. I have them on a marble chess board and together it really stands out as both decorative and utilitarian.

I have several chess sets and this is one of my favorites.

My brother really likes the set.
