Amazing results though a bit cumbersome.
My Belgian Shepherd/Tervuren has been East to train with the exception of loose-leash walking. He liked to pull and, at rare times, lunge. After waiting too long to try a prong collar, I was impressed by how quickly (immediately) he responded to it. Although on a couple of occasions he had pulled and twisted enough to cause brief pain, this is almost exclusively a non issue. And certainly less discomfort than having a collar applying constant pressure. Since I’ve been using this collar, I feel I could walk him off leash in many calm, lower-stimulating circumstances, but I don’t, other than around the property and on some hiking trails. On leash he does very well walking loose-leash but will pull occasionally, mainly when trying to sniff something in passing. Still, I’d say it’s been about a 90% improvement in the months we’ve used it. Downside: this 2.25 is definitely more flimsy than the thicker ones offered by HS. However, though I first tried a thicker-pronged HS collar, the prongs themselves were too long. I really wish these lengths of prong had the thicker metal. I have had the prongs slip apart and try collar fall off, twice. Ultimately I think that’s from not having it on firmly enough, but my dog had A LOT of long, thick neck fur. It’s at times challenging to put the collar on snugly with all that fur, as it requires lining up two prongs on one piece with two small prong holes on the attaching piece and squeezing the prongs a bit so they’ll fit. But it’s worth it, and I can do it more quickly nowadays, after some experience. Other downside, my dog immediately knows the difference between when this collar is on or when his lead is attached to his normal collar. As a result his behavior changes a bit. He’s much more inclined to pull if it’s not on him, so I generally keep it on him anywhere we go where he’ll be walking on lead. The positive side, however, is that even without this on, he’s now learned to correct much more quickly with a simple “stay with me” command or even just a clearing-of-throat noise. In sum, this collar has been amazing and my boy no longer acts up on walks, sits more quickly when I stop, and is much less likely to try to jump up the on people he meets on walks. This eliminated the need for an e-collar to enhance training, once other additional reinforcement has been given.

Game changer
This choke collar is awesome. It chokes like ever other collar (I've used another knock off brand borrowed from a our friend) the prongs are NOT sharp, it is black and after about 2 weeks worth of usage it shows no chips or flakes in the color. I bought the 3.25mm and its smaller than I expected it to be, obviously this is a measurement so consult a ruler to choose the correct one. It is much lighter in weight than the other one we were using, that being said it feels strong and secure just built out of better metal perhaps. Anyway our four legged son is a young energetic black lab about a year old and about 65-70 lbs. He pulls like a wild man and often will wait while you walk and then sprint trying to break free. This collar dose the trick the pulling is minimized greatly and he never tired to break free. We have tried heeling for a short break ever time he pulls but we don't have 45 min to use the restroom. When we tried the gentle lead he would walk about five feet and nose dive trying to scrape it off, after a few times on concrete and gravel we decided he was doing more harm than we were good. This collar is amazing it makes walks enjoyable again.

Works great!
This prone collar works great! It was recommended by my dog trainer for my 90 lb labs. Just a little tug and the dogs instantly respond in a positive way. I also love the black color for my black labs. I highly recommend this quality collar!

Excellent
This collar is excellent and genuine Germany Herm Sprenger. The collar is lovely. Not 100% black and looks like gun blueing black. Not a complaint just an observation. I love it and it's easy to remove. Very high quality and will not stretch. Overall very satisfied! 3.2mm is perfect for my 2 year old male German Shepherd with a 19" neck circumference. I removed three links. MAKE SURE IT SITS RIGHT BEHIND THE EARS AND IS TIGHT BUT NOT CHOKING. The martingale section of the collar should be behind the head, NOT on the side of neck or underside of chin, and it will need adjusting often. Also, prong collars NEED to be backed up. Have an additional collar on the dog along side the prong collar. The best option is a flat collar or a dominant dog collar. Attach the leash to both collars. You can also buy leashes made for prong collars and backing up. Prong collars, even Herm Sprenger can break with usage. They're not invincible and you certainly don't want your reactive dog running if one of the links break.

I guess black costs twice as much...
Good quality prong collar, however the one I received did not come with a swivel as shown in the picture. The links are easy to remove and replace, the prongs are nice and smooth so you won't have to worry about rough edges hurting your dog. The black finish looks very nice and durable. At $40+ it seems a little expensive compared to the chrome versions so I took one star.

We have a young lab, he's about 5-6 months old and is fairly decent size now, he must be about 50+lbs and a ball of energy. We were having a hard time taking him for walks so did some research on YouTube and trainers suggested a prong collar to help train dogs for walking and having them stop tugging on leash. Made the purchase on this collar and our dog is complete opposite of what he was doing, he walks calmly, doesn't pull no more, he listens when given directions, once he gets abit excited give the leash a slight tug and dog smartens up, wow! this collar helped us with our dog and will totally recommend this product to friends and family should they encounter the same issues as we have. Had to take 2 prongs off to size him better as his neck is still fairly thin but beautiful product none the less, the black blends in nicely with the dogs black coat. Some people might have their issues with prong collars but sometimes these training products actually help. Fast shipping.

It has been only 5 days since we started training with the prong collar but I see already huge progress with heeling. My 11 months old 86 lb labradoodle is an intact male. He was pooling on the leash and constantly stopping to sniff. I watched several YouTube instructors before I introduced the prong collar to my dog. The collar is an excellent tool in an educated dog owner hands. I was against prong collars until my dog pooled me down to the ground 3 times. I invested in private training but it didn’t help so after doing some research and reading reviews I decided to get one. My dogs neck behind his ears is 19” so I had to remove 2 links to fit him properly. I’m 63 years old women with arthritis if I could do it anyone can. I decided to get the black one because my dog is black and with his long coat it hides perfectly. I’m able now to communicate with my dog in gentle and effective manner. I highly recommend this product. If you decide to get a prong collar do it right the first time and get Herm Sprenger.

I would recommend buying a trachea plate to add to this. Our collars have lasted for years.
