Cam and groove fittings are also know as camlock fittings or couplings. These couplings consist of a grooved male adapter and a female cam coupler with handles or arms. Type A Cam and Groove Fitting This type A camlock (Cam and Groove) fitting has a male camlock quick connect coupling on one side and female NPT theads on the other side. The male camlock side of this coupler will only attach to a female camlock. The female threaded side will connect to a male NPT (National Pipe Tapered) threaded pipe.
