J.V. Converting Black Masking Tape – 1/4 in. x 60 yds. All Purpose Masking Tape, Great for Arts and Crafts, Painting Projects, Scrapbooking, Classroom Supplies and More

I'd purchased this because I'd once acquired a small amount of thin masking tape from a friend a while ago and found many miscellaneous uses for it- marking cords as mine, around the inside of a tin so the lid stays on more tightly, using a strip to mark the same distance between hooks for hanging lights rather than marking up the walls with a ruler and pencil, etc. Anyway I'd never seen it before or in a store since, so I searched for it and ordered this. A very good amount on this roll, the right amount of stick- like regular masking tape, but a little heavier, like painters tape (perhaps due to the dark color.) I think it'll be a while before I order more because it's such a good sized roll and I have no dedicated use for it. But much like a little mini sewing kit, though I don't use it daily, it can come in handy often enough to feel the need to always have it on hand. If you know what you'll use it for, I'd say this came in good condition and was just what I expected, so I recommend this item absolutely. Edit to add: I bought the 1/4" tape

I used this to tape my cello and it was great! It stayed on and was easy to place.

I used this tape in an art project to mask out lines of text I wanted to preserve on book pages which were then covered in layers of gesso and mixed media. It stayed down well. Once dry, the tape removed easily as long as I peeled it off vertically starting along the long side in the middle and not pull it end to end horizontally. Otherwise it would tend to pull up a little paper. (For larger areas, I used 3/4 inch artist tape for masking. ) I'm sure I'll find other uses.

I bought this tape to use for marking the fingering position placements on my cello and upright bass, and I couldn't be MORE happy with my purchase! The black tape blends EXTREMELY well with the ebony finger boards, and can only be seen by me. I know this in an unconventional-use-versus product review, but hey, it performs EXCELLENTLY for my intended purpose!!!!!!

This item came in a clear package. When I took it out it appeared as if it had been used. I had to use a flashlight to find the beginning. For almost $9.00 I expected a nice and neat clean roll. As you can see it's not.

I used this on a white board to make a chart. It sticks well and stays in place. I have had it on the board for months without any of it coming loose. Great price, too.
