chenyang SATA to 40 Pin ZIF CE 1.8 Inch SSD HDD Adapter Board with LIF Flat Cable

I have an old sony HDD camcorder that was Dead but the drive still had video of my kid from 18 years ago. I tried another version of this adapter and it didn't work, but this one did.

While the product description states that the White end of the cable is a slimmer 0.22mm for SSDs that cannot accept the thicker 0.30mm cable end I can assure you that BOTH ends are exactly the same thickness: 0.30mm. So the included cables with NOT fit an SSD that requires the thinner end. And Good Luck finding one that does.

Worked great to get data off an old 1.8" zif Samsung hard drive from an old HP netbook. I used a USB SATA dock with a separate power supply to power the drive.Took a star off because the zif/ce cables that came with the adapter were to thick to use with the Samsung drive. Thankfully I still had the original cable.

Not work for my Toshiba 1.8 zif hdd. It just light up the board, but not recognized of my disk.

Not sure if there is something wrong and the cables are the same or I'm missing something but I can't get either cable to fit in the socket on the Toshiba. Almost feels too thick to git in the slot and it's not strong enough to apply any pressure so plug it in. Returning

overall barely works. trying to image an old zf 1.8in HDD and it keeps cutting out. seems as if not enough power is being delivered to the drive itself.i can pull a file or few at a time but fails to image.
