A must read
This book is well written and depicts raw honesty and hope for anyone inflicted with addiction and alcoholism. I think we should all, as a society, share in Henry’s vision for future outreach of healthy recovery options to this sadly growing population. I highly recommend this book.

Great book!
I like what Mr Henry Green said about how he was saved by grace and in gratitude to God that he tries to give back what was so freely given to him. So many people don’t often offer a second or third chance like Mr. Green does. This world will be a much better place if we had a lot more people like Mr. Green willing to help others like he does!

Recommended!!
This book is a quick read but touches and speaks on every aspect of addiction, from a very personal addicted account, to those persons peripheral of the addict - family, friends, employers, community. The book is a clean read, although details are factual. I commented to the main character of the book that his publishing this book is brave. But bravery - and coming out of the shadows of life's trails such as addiction - is what is needed. I see this book as one of many tools that all persons can refer to find their starting point to begin anew. Yes, you can always being life anew.

I highly recommend this book to everyone
This was such an inspirational book about the Henry Greens journey and how he overcame the cunning baffling and powerful disease of addiction. It takes you through the many trials of his life starting with his abusive childhood where he was taught to keep his home life secret through his years of manipulating his family and the lifestyle of all the lying cheating and stealing that comes along with the disease of addiction. The story of how he finds the rooms of AA and recovers with the help of the 12 step program is amazing. He found a new way to live, one that made him happy joyous and free and to read about how he finds that from where he came from and what he’d been through gives me so much hope and inspiration and motivation to know I could do this myself too. Also there’s a part about his surviving an operation and a new medical treatment that had just come on the market at the time, I can relate to a lot of this book but that part especially. I was very moved by the story of Henry’s journey, also I love that he’s contributed so much good to the program of AA through his New Found Freedom Houses for men and women that he’s very involved in himself plus so much more. He has over 20+ years of sobriety and is truly on of my biggest inspirations. I hope to be able to contribute something as amazing and beneficial to the program of AA as he has on day. Thank you Henry for this book and for everything you’ve done for this program. Your friend Jeanine

As an expert in this field,I strongly recommend reading this inspiring story.
This is an unassuming yet well written story of survival and redemption and a good man’s journey toward his spiritual truth. It is honest in portraying the experience of “backing into” God’s grace as provided through our loving brothers and sisters. It is beautiful in showing the powerful drive to pay forward our gratitude by addressing the suffering of others.Like most personal stories of recovery it’s candor reflects the universal nature of spiritual growth.Lonnie Scarborough MD
