It actually works
We have two chihuahuas, Frankie on the left and Sammie on the right (Rat Pack references), and if you know anything about small dog breeds, then you know they're prone to bad breath. As lovable and affectionate as these two are, their breath was so bad we could barely stand to let them near us. In fact, if they climbed on the couch and started grooming themselves, it smelled like a rotting corpse was laying next to you. We've tried a number of water additives over the years, with absolutely no success. However, in the spirit of not giving up, we decided to give this Oxyfresh Premium Water Additive a try, albeit with little hope that it would actually do anything at all. Much to our surprise it's worked miracles. Within a week we noticed a HUGE difference. While their breath doesn't smell minty fresh or anything like that, and what dog's does really, it has rid their breath of about 90% of the stench, which is now entirely tolerable. Now we don't cringe when they jump on our laps and get in our faces. They are both such affectionate members of our family, and this stuff makes getting and giving them that love a real joy. I know some people have voiced concerns in the comments about some of the ingredients, but after two solid months of use, we've noticed absolutely no adverse side effects whatsoever. We asked our vet, and she said she has no concerns with them ingesting this water additive, as long as we stick to the recommended dosage. If your dog suffers from really bad breath, I can tell you this stuff has really worked for us. UPDATE: 8/23/2021 So I've seen a number of reviews claiming that this product contains toxic ingredients, so I spoke with my vet today and did a bit of research. I also responded to someone who had a question about this product, so I'll just paste my response here, and hopefully it will answer a lot of concerns others are having about some of the ingredients in this product. We've been using this with our dogs for a couple of months now, with absolutely no issues whatsoever. However, today one of my dog's rabies shots were due, so I showed this to the vet. To paraphrase our conversation after showing her some of the comments on Amazon, she basically said the following regarding Sodium Hydroxide being toxic: "Well yeah, if you consume unhealthy amounts of it, then yes, absolutely. But then again so is toothpaste. HOWEVER, Sodium Hydroxide is used in a number of human and pet products in very low amounts to regulate the acidity. It helps regulate the pH balance. It's also used in a number of medications for humans and pets, as well as human and pet foods." So after our conversation I went home, did a little more research and here's what I found. "Sodium hydroxide is used to help manufacture a variety of medicines and pharmaceutical products, from common pain relievers like aspirin, to anticoagulants that can help to prevent blood clots, to cholesterol-reducing medications. Municipal water treatment facilities use sodium hydroxide to control water acidity and to help remove heavy metals from water. Sodium hydroxide is also used to produce sodium hypochlorite, a water disinfectant. Sodium hydroxide is used in several food processing applications, such as curing foods like olives or helping to brown Bavarian-style pretzels, giving them their characteristic crunch. Sodium hydroxide is used to remove skins from tomatoes, potatoes and other fruits and vegetables for canning and also as an ingredient in food preservatives that help prevent mold and bacteria from growing in food." "The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows sodium hydroxide as a food additive at levels lower than 1 percent." As for Chlorine, if you're giving your pets tap water from a municipal water supply, then it contains chlorine. I did a little more research on this as well, and here's something I found. "The best source of chlorine is ordinary table salt, but chlorides are also naturally contained in meat, milk, and eggs. Almost all canned foods have salt added during the canning process." As for Carrageenan, I found the following: "Carrageenan is an extract from a red seaweed commonly known as Irish Moss. This edible seaweed is native to the British Isles, where it's been used in traditional cooking for hundreds of years. It's also widely used in the food industry, mostly as a thickener and gelling agent." As for Paraben, I found the following: "Typical food products which contain parabens for preservation, include beer, sauces, desserts, soft drinks, jams, pickles, frozen dairy products, processed vegetables and flavoring syrups. Some fruits, such as blueberries, contain parabens as a naturally occurring preservative." My vet also explained that dogs, much like humans, are very diverse, and as with humans, some dogs are sensitive to things other dogs have no problems with. For example, my wife cannot eat fatty foods without becoming very ill, so she has to avoid as much fat in her diet as possible. I on the other hand have no problem with fatty foods, as anyone who's seen a picture of me can certainly attest. If my dogs aren't having any adverse issues, and my vet doesn't have a problem with it, then I don't have a problem treating their bad breath issues with it, as it's truly been a miracle worker, where every other products we've tried has failed. From all the information I've gathered, if your dogs tolerate it well, then I can't see anything that would cause them any underlying problems. As mentioned earlier, there are a lot of common ingredients humans and pets consume every single day that would be potentially very toxic if not properly dosed. I'll leave the rest for you to decide what's right for your furry loved ones.

This really works!
My 13 year old cocker spaniel had horrible breath even with brushing his teeth every day. I have tried other water additives which have made his face swell up, so I was scared to try one again and dental treats hurt his tummy. Then I found this Oxyfresh and had AI look up each ingredient: The Oxyfresh Premium Pet Dental Care Solution contains the following key ingredients: Water (Aqua): The base of the solution. Sodium Benzoate: A preservative that also has antibacterial properties. It is generally safe for pets at low concentrations. Sodium Citrate: Helps control tartar by binding calcium in saliva. Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide (Oxygeneยฎ): The active ingredient that eliminates odor-causing bacteria in the mouth, helping to reduce bad breath, plaque, and tartar. Zinc Acetate: Supports oral health by inhibiting bacterial growth and reducing plaque formation. Sodium Hydroxide: Used to adjust pH and maintain solution stability. Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex: A derivative of chlorophyll that helps neutralize bad breath. Citric Acid (in some formulations): Used to adjust pH. Note: While citric acid is present, it is not the same as vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and concerns about benzene formation with sodium benzoate require the presence of ascorbic acid, which is not listed. I decided to give it a try and started with a half dose for 2 weeks with absolutely no issues. He happily drinks it (so does the cat) and then I started giving the full dose about a week ago. My dog and cat have had no issues at all and now my dog doesnโt have bad breath anymore! Iโm so impressed and thankful. The bottle is a nice size and so worth it. Just make sure you measure out the water and follow the directions. I definitely recommend starting with the smallest dose at first.

A Nearly Perfect Solution for Pet Dental Care, But Not a Magic Bullet
The Oxyfresh Premium Pet Dental Care Solution offers a convenient way to address your petโs dental hygiene. After using this water additive for several weeks, I am mostly pleased with the results, earning the product a 4-star rating. Formula and Ease of Use The odorless and tasteless formula makes it easy to integrate into your petโs daily routine. Simply add it to their water, and youโre good to go. I was particularly impressed by the vet-recommended tag, which adds a layer of trust to the product. Efficacy I noticed a marked improvement in my dogโs breath within the first week. While itโs not a substitute for regular teeth brushing or vet cleanings, it certainly complements those practices well. My cat, however, was less enthusiastic about drinking water with the additive, but I did notice slight improvement in her dental health over time. Pros: 1. Ease of Use: Just add to water, no need for direct application. 2. Effective: Noticeable improvement in breath and slight reduction in tartar. 3. Vet Recommended: Adds a layer of credibility. Cons: 1. Pricey: The 8 oz. bottle feels a bit expensive for the amount you get. 2. Not a Complete Solution: Still need to maintain regular dental practices. Comparison In comparison to other dental water additives like TropiClean Fresh Breath Oral Care Water Additive, Oxyfresh holds its own. While both are effective, Oxyfresh gains points for being vet-recommended. Usage Experience I used this additive for both my dog and cat over a month, adding it to their water bowls daily. The change was more dramatic for my dog; his breath improved significantly. My cat showed modest improvements but was not as keen on the altered water. Final Thoughts Oxyfresh Premium Pet Dental Care Solution offers a practical, if not entirely comprehensive, approach to improving your petโs dental health. It works well for what itโs designed to do, but it doesnโt replace the need for regular dental care. The product is a bit on the pricier side, but if ease of use and effectiveness are your top priorities, itโs worth the investment. Thank you for reading this review. I hope it helps you in making an informed decision.

Highly recommended
This Stuff Really Works! This is now my third bottle of Oxyfresh, and it has earned a permanent spot on my shopping list. I'm writing another review because products that deliver on their promises deserve all the praise. I've been using this for my dog for over three months now, and the results are consistently amazing. Their breath is no longer offensive when they cuddle up close, and I've noticed a significant reduction in plaque buildup. It's so effortless-just adding it to their water bowl is all it takes. There's no fuss, no weird smells, and most importantly, the dog don't suspect a thing! Knowing it's a #1 Best Seller and Vet Recommended gives me great peace of mind. The 16oz bottle lasts a long time, making it an incredible value for the health benefits it provides. If you're on the fence, just try it. It turned me from a skeptic into a lifelong customer. Highly recommended!

So happy
I am soooooo glad I bought this. We always joke (itโs not a joke to me) that our pup went right from puppy breath to poop poo breath. Her breath was horrendous and just kept getting worse. The vet said that was just her and shared no concerns as her teeth and gums are healthy. I have never noticed a dog sleeping with her mouth open and drooling and waking up with a dry mouth (maybe this is normal but Iโve just never noticed before). Her breath was getting so bad I didnโt even let her get her face close to me at all. I finally couldnt stand it anymore so I went searching on Amazon to see if there was anything that would help. I started reading about the products offered that have a lot of reviews and the overall rating was 4.5 or higher. I always go to the negative reviews first because I want to know the cons first. The cons in this product werenโt that bad so I went to the pros and testimonials and thought the worst thing that could happen is that it just wouldnโt work. This product works. I canโt say that enough, IT WORKS. I noticed a change the very first night. She has now been using it for a week now and her breath keeps getting better and better. Now I must say you should read the directions first (which I didnโt do) for how much to use. I dumped a third of the bottle into 2.5 gallons of water which was way too much. Because of the cost I didnโt want to throw the water out and start over so I just researched and it said there was nothing in this product that she could overdose on so I kept the water. We have a fountain bowl so the water is constantly fresh. I noticed they didnโt like the taste but they need to drink so they are drinking it just not as much as before. When I add more water it just continues to dilute it so Iโm getting closer to the recommended dose. When I do totally change the water out I will add the recommended dose and Iโm sure they will not taste it at all. Now when I tasted and smelled it I could not taste or smell it at all but my senses are not as sharp as theirs obviously. For 2.5 gallons of water I should have only used around 10-12 teaspoons lol๐. Now I commented that the price was high because it is high if you buy it and it doesnโt work ( I wish that I could have gotten a sample size). Now that I know it works the price is extremely affordable. As for the side effects mentioned in the cons the only one I had is the taste which again is because I used way too much but I know they are acclimating to. I have a 5 year old and 15 year old and both beagles. There has been no throwing up and no diarrhea at all. I seriously recommend this product. If you buy I hope your results are as good as mine. What do you have to lose if you try it and it doesnโt work, a few dollars. What do you gain, a pup you donโt mind licking your nose or giving kisses to. Signed a happy happy customer๐ So Iโve been using now for 2 weeks and after attempting to overdose my dogs by not reading the instructions, they are still very healthy, no diarrhea or throwing up. They are still eating normal and have now acclimated to the taste. Breathe is still amazingly fresh. So at this stage I will again give it my stamp of approval ๐ This will probably be my last update. My dogs have been using for 6 weeks now and breath still fresh. Iโm pretty sure this will be my dog breath freshener for life including any new fur babies in the future. Earlier I mentioned a fountain water bowl. If you donโt have one I recommend. With the fountain very little Oxyfresh goes to waste. I only have to clean it about every 2 1/2 weeks. Before cleaning Iโm able to add the Oxyfresh as I add more water. I also think it gives constant rotation of water so my pups are always getting the same amount every time they take a drink. Again, I am a very very happy fur baby mother๐ So Iโm writing to give you an update. I have been using for a little over 3 months now and I smell a little from my 5 year old. I am confident that this is the norm. She still had gone to practically none when I first started her. Now another huge bonus: my dogs had their annual and the Vet couldnโt say enough how much their tartar had reduced and how healthy their gums are. Thatโs a win win for me especially when said last year that my 15 year old needed a deep cleaning which costs anywhere from $300-500. So you can easily see how much money OxyFresh could potentially save you. Iโm still very very happy and still keep my 5 which would be a 10 if they went that high for the rating. Sorry, Iโm updating again. So I had noticed odor coming back on my 5 year old. I increased the amount of Oxyfresh and she went back to nearly odor free. As I stated in my earlier posting there is nothing harmful here so if youโre noticing increased odor in your pet just increase the amount. Talk to your vet first but Iโm sure he/she will give you the thumbs up. Still in love with this product๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

If your cat eats/chews on foreign objects--GET THIS!!
I was trying to look into why my cats are obsessed with chewing on plastic and why a friends' cat chews wires. I found out that a likely cause was dental problems. Which, if not taken care of, can be extremely costly, painful, and hinder your cats' quality of life greatly, just like in any human. So I did some research. Found out that most "dental" treats' logic is basically "it's crunchy, so it cleans your cats' teeth!" which is NOT true & is just going to cause your cats' teeth harm. So I did more digging. Then I found this. Looked into it, seemed actually science backed and not just a marketing ploy, so I went out and tried it. I'm So happy that I did. My cats are feeling much better, and I can tell! The first think I noticed was that their breath got better. I'm not worried about this for my sake--they're cats, their breath isn't going to smell like mint (as mint is harmful to them), but it was particularly awful. Like farts smelled better than their breath. THAT is not normal. It was sour, vinegary, meaty, rotten, yeasty, and stung my throat and eyes. THAT is not normal. But after about a month of trying this stuff, not only has their breath gotten down to tolerable (I mean, smells like stinky cat breath, but not An Odor Most Foul), AAAND I've noticed the following: -Their gums are no longer red & swollen (I didn't realize they were until I saw that they no longer were!) -They chewed plastic a lot less -They're more playful -They're more cuddly -They rub their gums on the corners of things way less -Their teeth doesn't have build up anymore For those of you worried: My cats both have sensitive stomachs. I started them off on the "sensitive" proportions for the first 2 weeks, then the next few weeks went onto using the normal proportions. They're both fine! They haven't noticed! There's not color, flavor (that I can tell, I haven't tasted it lol, and if there WAS, so little gets diluted in the water comparatively that your water overtakes the flavor), or odor of this stuff, so my cats can't tell that there's anything in their water! They drink lots of water every day, no problem. This is basically like how the USA adds fluoride to their drinking water to help with teeth & gum health--it's a minuscule amount so you don't get sick or taste it, but it's plenty to help out your dental hygiene! Just remember that this isn't a REPLACEMENT for brushing your cats' teeth! You still have to do that, just like how we in the US still have to brush our teeth despite the whole fluoride thing. But this certainly helps A LOT--and a lot quicker than I thought it would! I would put this on a "required" products list for any person who wants to actually take care of their cat. Just be sure not to add anymore than what the instructions say as to avoid making them sick, and be sure to stir the water up when you're done adding it! Place lots of large, flat bowls (maybe slightly risen) in every room to encourage them to drink water bc cats don't have a high thirst drive despite NEEDING lots of water. It's what we've always done and my cats drink water out of every bowl several times a day. I hope this works out for you like it did me! Good luck!

My Dog Hates Brushing TeethโThis Works!
Oxyfresh along with Minties, his teeth were cleaned all the way to the back molars in just a few weeks. A little tarter on his canines, but it's working. I was very skeptical, our male Sheltie is 5 years old now, the VET said it was time to clean his teeth. He wouldn't let us brush his teeth, we didn't want to spend the $$$ because it requires anesthesia, and we felt the bacteria from the brushing had contributed to the death of a previous dog of ours. I thought if these products are recommended by VET's at the highest level then we'd give them a try. His breath wasn't bad (at least to us), but super clean teeth, no bad breath. Highly recommend giving them a try and I'd be very surprised if they didn't work for you.

It works!
I am shocked at how fast this product started working on my dogs teeth. I have 3 dogs ranging from 14 years to 15 months. The 14 year olds teeth have really improved in just a short period of time. His breath smells better and the tartar has improved significantly. My 8 year old Yorkieโs teeth have also improved but she seems to be the only one that acts like she โknows โ thereโs something in the water but sheโs getting use to it. The other two donโt seem to know the difference. Good product!
