LoonOutdoors Deep Soft Weight Putty

Loon's focus on environmental fishing products is a reason to buy them. Of their products I've used this is the only one I couldn't recommend. It's purpose is to replace split shot on fly lines. A pinch is pulled from the weight and rolled onto the line. This material doesn't hold onto the line very well. It is also leaves a sticky residue on one's fingers that is annoying. There are better putty weights out there, Hairline's for example. Use one of those or go back to split shot.

I honestly hate it! Don't waste your money with this product. If you want to know how it feels like using this product, put chewing gum in a hot oven for 5 minutes and then try to make a little ball with it using your hands. The Orvis putty is much better.

A little goes a long way. Much easier to use than splitshot. Seems to harden when it hits the water..

Too sticky did work good

Great stuff. Doesn't seem to hang up as much as split shot.
