The North State Windsor Gate is easily installed, adjusts readily to different sized doors, is well constructed, easy to use, looks great, and best of all, works very well. We used it as a puppy gate and it is an excellent product for a very active, demanding labradoodle. We liked this gate so much we bought four more of them. I don't like to provide a review for a product until I've used it for some time. We've had these gates now for three months and they have held up well and have met our highest expections. There was only one minor issue. If your gate (or gate plus extension) fits snugly in the door opening, it is difficult to get the provided wrench into the slots of the tightening wheel to tighten further. However, if you install the provided wall cups (screw or double stick tape) and finger tighten, it's a non-issue. Would recommend this gate even for active toddlers or large dogs, it is that sturdy.

lThis is the 4th gate we have tried and I am SO happy to have found this one after reading so many reviews. This gate is perfect for our needs. We have 2 dogs, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback and a small Pomeranian and both dogs are contained by this gate. I LOVE this gate and hardly write reviews, but this one warrants a positive review. Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a small space, the doorway was barely large enough to fit the gate, but it does perfectly. Also the wrench that they give you can only be used by slipping the wrench inside of the nut, instead of on the outside like a traditional wrench, so once I was able to manipulate the screws with my fingers enough to slip in the wrench, it was sooo much easier. That took some patience. I am a fairly handy gal and was able to install without any help. I did n Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a th small space, the doorway was barely large enough to install any expansions. Tip: keep the zip ties on the gate until you are finished installing the door to keep it from swinging back and forth. READ all the directions before you start, it will save you a lot of time. What I love about the gate: You can install it with base boards and walls, it adjusts. It swings both ways, it can stay open in either direction once pushed past 90 degrees, it automatically locks so the dogs cannot escape if one of our kids leaves it open. All 3 of my kids can open the gate without help (once they practiced and where shown how to do it). You only need one hand free to open it, It can be locked if you were using it to keep toddlers out, the gate is fairly light which helps over time it stays put. Many of the other gates we have tried are sooo heavy and they come loose quickly, this one stays put. I did purchased extra wall savers to protect my wall and base boards, but it does come with some, I just wanted the extra cushion/protection. This is the best pet gate we have come across. I need another one for a large doorway, need to contact the company to see if they make one for larger spaces.

LOVE this gate! Purchased this because as renters we couldn't put up anything "permanent" and this is the next best thing. It took a little while to "install" in place, but once you realize how to do it, it was simple. We have it at the entrance to our kitchen--a higher traffic area--and so LOVE that the gate opens in either direction AND that it will stay open in either direction... very few others will do this. You can also secure it if you have kids so they won't be able to open it, but for our two pups it's perfect without that. The gate itself is nice looking, and substantial -- not flimsy at all. It comes with two smaller side extender pieces, but fits a standard size doorway without them. We've had it in place for a month now and actually love it more! VERY pleased with our purchase!

The gate comes in sections which are easy to put together and install. I love that the gate is able to stay open if you open it past 90 degrees. This way you can carry things in and out of the room and not have to worry about the gate springing back on you if your hands are full. The gate door will swing back gently into the closed position on its own. And you can turn a mechanism so that it is "locked" for added security in keeping pets out of certain areas. We have a 25 pound beagle and it works great in keeping him out of the master bedroom. This gate is also very attractive looking...it doesn't "look cheap." It's a very nice quality gate at a nice price. Highly recommend it!

Installed quickly, instructions were pretty clear. It's a little sticky to open, and the procedure to open is not particularly intuitive, but it's very sturdy and closes/locks quickly behind me. Since I have a tiny dog did not bother with screwing the holders into the door frame. Definitely would be necessary with kids or larger dogs pushing/pulling on it. Was able to get it to fit on a door frame in front of a interior sliding door. The thin profile allows for the slider door to open/close as well. Like that it's US made.

I used this gate for when I have my grandchildren or nieces over Its beautiful color , great for Safety at the top of my stairs . Love the lock features , height is great and the price was good .

This was easy to assemble. It took me about 20 min and works perfect! At first I screwed the sides a little too tight and the gate couldn’t lift open. I loosened it and it worked great. The gate swings open and holds either way. When in the unlocked position you just lift up slightly. I was nervous the opening to walk through would be too small to easily walk in and out, but it’s actually just fine. It comes with double-sided sticky pads and screws but only one or the other need to be used. I didn’t want to drill into my wall and it’s held really well against opening and closing and puppies jumping against it. I’m so glad I went with this gate over the many others I was looking at.
