I didn't expect less provided the nice preview photos by Amazon. In live quality is superb and the drawings and the explanations are unspokenly good. Absolute delight to the eye and the intellect.

I have seen the large edition, the five hundred pounds one, and I must say, it is impressive. However, I am extremely pleased with this normal size version, it is already a little heavy, but the quality is unparalleled and the drawings are just as impressive as in the large edition, especially if it's related to your job. You will have a lot of fun discovering the un-discoverable with the naked eye. What I don't like about these new kind of prints is that they are not paper anymore, and that's why they are so heavy. Between cutting down a falling tree and using plastic I don't know which is better. Because I hope my book will not degrade within a few years.

This is a beautiful, elegant book. Very good price! It's a hardcover volume. Please note the small size.

Very sharp pictures and interesting text. Very interesting as a reference or for creative ideas.

When I first received this book I agreed with the reviews stating another version better. After comparing the two I decided I like this version best. Yes, many images are small however there seem to be more images in color and the writing is superior. In addition this book defends Ernst Haeckel explaining he was a person of his own time in history. There are people who attack Dr Margaret Sanger as well nowadays. Abraham Lincoln himself could be attacked for his negative opinion of people of color. Lincoln wanted slavery gone but it is doubtful Lincoln would have felt positive toward our great President Obama. Times can improve if we work for improvement and vote!

Maravilloso libro ilustrado, con montones de ilustraciones (casi todo el contenido son ilustraciones), realizadas a mano por el artista-científico del siglo XIX y principios del XX, muy inspirador para artistas o deleite de amantes a la biología. Un sorprende y grato descubrimiento a un precio super económico. Me encanta!! La única pega que le pongo es que está en inglés, no lo encontré en español.
