BEST GREEN DYE! Fade-Resistant! Beautiful true Pine Green color
Manic Panic GREEN ENVY color – This is my favorite green color of all the green dyes I've ever tried! It's a great pine green/emerald green! Not too light (hate neon or light greens) and not too dark (hate when they show up like black). It's vibrant while also being a nice forest green color (not teal, it's like a true green). I have natural 6-7 level hair (light brown/dark blond) and just dye this over my virgin hair. And you can see it NEVER FADES. It's like permanent hair color that grows out! I dyed my hair like MONTHS ago and it's still going strong, like the day I dyed it! You can tell by my substantial roots. As you can see from my photos, it's really growing out and hasn't faded AT ALL. Over virgin hair! The way I get it to stay that way is by using a clarifying or salicylic acid shampoo (no conditioner), blow dry my hair (heat helps open the cuticle), and then I just mush it into my dry hair (cream color is so much easier to use than liquid box dye). Then I put a shower cap over it and use a hair dryer again for about 10-15 min in order to let the heat help set it. Then (and I imagine this is the most important part) I leave it in for over 6 hours, or cover it and my bed with towels and leave it in overnight. When I wash it out, I let the water turn clear and then ONLY use conditioner to wash my hair. Yes it stains my skin, so I use gloves. If I'm not careful it stains my ears, the skin under my side shave, and my neck. But double cleansing my skin with an oil and then some kind of soap gets the worst stains out. And the rest of the stains (like my scalp which I don't touch because I can't clean that without washing the fresh dye out of my hair) fades within a few days. But I'm also an oily person so that might have something to do with it. You could always use Vaseline to cover your ears and neck if you're really worried about stains on your skin. Also, after the initial staining from dyeing my hair, it doesn't really stain anything else. My towels are green so a little green hair dye bleeding from wet hair isn't noticable. And my pillow cases are charcoal so any color bleeding from my sweaty head at night doesn't ruin them. And then my hair stays vibrant and beautiful until it grows out! My hair is even greasy in these pics (and as a man being on testosterone, my hair gets get greasy pretty fast)... hence the braiding to keep it out of my face. And greasy hair sometimes looks darker. But you can tell by my roots that the green color is still vibrant and hasn't faded at all! Unfortunately, I see this color is becoming increasingly difficult to find and is "out of stock" in a lot of places. Also manic panic discontinued the amplified version – which isn't such a big deal because actually I think the classic comes out better and has better staying power. But that's not a good sign from a retail perspective. Since manic panic literally has NO OTHER true greens in their line (even "enchanted forest" is TEAL, not GREEN like an actual forest), that SUCKS. So I might have to experiment with some other brands. But as long as they still make this and I can get a hold of it, I'll always buy Green Envy by manic panic because it's the best vibrant dark-ish true pine green and it's fade-resistance is unparalleled.

the best Manic Panic shade of dark green
I rate Green Envy 5 stars because it is, in my opinion, the best Manic Panic shade of dark green. I have been dyeing my hair myself for years, and I have tried a good deal of Manic Panic colors in particular. Here is what I love about Green Envy: -It dyes the most evenly, compared to colors like Venus Envy and Enchanted Forest. I am experienced at bleaching my hair, but sometimes you have to sacrifice even-toned bleaching for non-fried hair. When I dyed my hair over a slightly uneven bleach job using Venus Envy or Enchanted Forest, the colors came out rather muddled, some areas of my hair turning out brighter than others. (I might add that Venus Envy was the worst culprit of this; Enchanted Forest was fine after two dye jobs). Green Envy, however, is solid. It turns out pretty freakin even after just one dye job. I left mine in for 40 minutes the first time, then 25 minutes for every subsequent touch-up, and it worked beautifully. -The color itself is rich and gorgeous. It is a deep forest green, and unique in that not too many people dye their hair green, let alone such a lovely shade. It's the dark, magical green of a woodland fairy's wings. -It fades superbly well. As the deep green becomes lighter, it somewhat resembles Manic Panic's Electric Lizard -- a bright and unmistakable green. Whereas Venus Envy and Enchanted Forest became more faded looking and also changed to turquoise (which is also lovely but not what I wanted), Green Envy remains green as sin, and when it's faded it's bright as a lime. -It holds in your hair for a reasonably long time, considering this is only a semi-permanent dye. If you are worried about other customer reviews that claim the color fades too fast, you should consider that semi-permanent dyes are meant to be upkept every several weeks or so. In my years of experience dyeing my hair all the colors of the rainbow, Manic Panic does the best job at keeping your hair bright and crazy for as long as possible. To give context, I wash my hair (shampoo+conditioner) approximately every other day. Green Envy in particular lasted about a month (though I stretched it to longer a couple times). If you shampoo your hair less frequently it will likely last longer. I should note that my review is at least partially based off the fact that I did bleach my hair prior to dyeing, and I have not tried Green Envy without bleaching first. But just knowing from experience with hair dye, I can tell you that bleaching your hair first will yield a much brighter, richer color than if you dye over any hair that isn't platinum blond. 5 stars for Green Envy. It's a fantastic shade. I recently moved on to purple (mixed Manic Panic's Plum Passion with Violet Night and Ultraviolet), and though I eventually grew bored of Green Envy, I remember it fondly and will probably use it again in the future.

Very pigmented!
It was really messy and sainted a lot. As you can see it stained my neck and forehead a bit. This is day two after I dyed it! Lucky the stain on my skin didn’t last long cause I’m day two I was able to get ride of the staining of my skin more! Be careful when using this in your bathroom or skin cause it stains. I ended up washing my hair out in the skin so it would be easier to clean. Also I used a magic eraser to get the stains off the skin and that got the green stain out right away! Just letting everyone know to be careful! Also I got the smaller size since I have short hair and it really colored my whole head! I was very happy with the results. It’s a really pretty green! I really love it and would use the product again! My green came out a bit on the dark green side even though my hair was blonde! But when you go outside the green shines and comes out more! Green with envy is my first hair dye product here and I’m really happy with it!!

No misnomers here-Green Envy gets so many compliments!
I am a seasoned Manic Panic aficionado, having used it since my emo phase (it's not a phase, Mom!). After a bad breakup, I did the only reasonable thing I could think of: bleached my bangs. Unhappy with the results (a coppery blonde), I decided to try a color I never went for in my emo phase: green. Woah! I have never in my life gotten so many compliments. I used Green Envy, which is a cool blue tone. It highlights my curls and frames my face nicely (I have brown, leaning on green eyes with neutral undertones in my skin). The color is impressively long-lasting and I only have to recolor my hair every other month or so (I wash with shampoo about 2x a week). As it fades, it loses its cool tones and turns a more yellow-ish green. I rate it 4 stars because the color does settle in the bottle, and if you don't mix it prior to redying, you will end up with a very dark green/purple-y color.

Oh my god… the color is beautiful
I’m so, so happy with the way my hair came out! I was a bit scared of looking like a swamp monster, but the pigment is so nice and bold and definitely emerald green as advertised. I have pretty thick hair, and I was able to color it with only about 2/3-3/4 of the tub. It is a bit smaller than I was expecting, but the pigment spreads and saturated nicely. It does stain pretty badly, though, so be sure to cover your workspace and wear gloves. Washing it out didn’t really stain my shower, though, so that’s a plus. It also hasn’t been transferring at all since I washed out the color and dried it, which is a super big point in its favor for me. This is my favorite color I have ever put in my hair, and I will definitely be using this shade for a while.

Love this color
I've used it twice in my split dye, and love it so much. For me personally, it fades super super slowly- which I'm grateful for- and faded to a more lime green before going slightly minty. I absolutely love it and get complements on it all the time. I have very thick, long hair and the 4oz jar is enough to do half my head completely and keeps my hair very soft and luscious. No noticeable smell. Will dye everything it touches, as most of these types of dyes will, so be careful. I don't think I'll ever go back to the any of the other vivids brands I've tried.

It definitely did the trick!
So I had fuchsia highlights before attempting green. First brand I grabbed did nothing at all, even after using a color stripper before applying. So slapped some brown over it to get an even color and decided to give this a whirl. I was super skeptical, thinking it wasnt going to work. It definitely took soooo much better. It was vibrant deep green on the lighter bits and a dark green/black else where, blended nicely. And totally just worked. Trick I've learned with any manic panic color, is to rinse in your metal kitchen sink to save your tub from stains. And after initial rinse out, don't rinse again for at least 3 days. Been doing that for years and my color always holds up well.
