I recommend these 100% just as easy to install as the old style and I think they last a lifetime. They don’t get hot at all when they’re on.

So far so good. I bought a bag of a dozen cheaper bulbs- smoke poured from each. The cheaper ones had extra wide base flanges also- these actually fit. These are much higher quality. ordering two more.

I needed an 1157 bulb for my brake light on an '03 Yamaha Road Star 1600. I bought these, and they don't work in the fixture, but with 12v, they are super bright, and are sealed well with a clear silicone like cover for the LEDs, and a rubber like adhesive at the base to prevent moisture from entering the circuit.Double check what bulb your fixture has, as these 1152 bulbs have two contacts, but the bulb does not behave like an 1157. 1152's to my knowledge don't have a high/low setting controlled by the contacts like 1157's, and in my experience, will not work at all in an 1157 socket the way it's wired up. The retention pin orientation is also straight across, while 1157's are offset/staggered.In conclusion, this seems to be a solid bulb, just make sure you double check what bulb type you need. Don't be like me, and assume that all two contact bulbs will function as a brake light replacement for any old halogen socket.

Like a number of reviewers, I bought these to replace some filament bulbs in a vintage car; the idea being to be less of a load on old wires and switches, and reduce heat on old plastics.I used two, one in the dome light which needed the contacts on the base of the bulb filing down a fraction in order to fit against the (particularly strong in this holder) spring terminals. As is stated, the light elements and electronics are potted in flexible clear rubberized gel. You cannot grip that like you would a glass bulb, push and twist against the bayonet, it'll break off- so make sure the lamp holder has access that you can hold the metal section in order to push and twist. Deep recessed holders will be difficult to fit. The BA15D bulbs work either way round which is a bonus.In terms of brightness, equivalent certainly to a #1004, if not slightly more bright. Color rendition is not as yellow (a little more green if anything) but behind the 60+ year old ivory colored semi-opaque plastic of my dome light you'd be hard pressed to tell it is illuminated with an LED bulb.In the glass covered lamp under the hood, the light throw is excellent and certainly as bright as the 14W bulb it replaced.They're a little more slim in diameter than a #1004's glass envelope but are longer, so pay attention to the measurements given by the manufacturer (excellent information to have before buying).Overall, really very happy with how these work in this automotive application.

I've been very happy with these. I had seen some reviews saying they clogged up. Mine never have. My best pots and pans say the propellant in regular spray cans hurt them and these do not

Blew out the first time I installed in the sewing machine light. It was advertised with the sewing lights.
