Review: Beaver feaver sucks, change your filter!!! - Haven't used my water filter in years so I thougt it best to get a new filter. It fit perfectly and and worked ad advertised. Review: Fast, efficient, long lasting for safe tasty water in large volumes - They included an easily installed, washable, optional pre-filter to lengthen life of the main cylinder filter. When I have done my own pre-filtering at the intake (e.g. coffee filter) I regularly exceeded the 200 gallon rating by LOTS so the new layer that you may wrap around the main filter will so the same, only easier. After trips, I flush the filter and pump with mild bleach solution, and air dry before packing even further extending the life of these outstanding filters! These are also an excellent addition to my in-home disaster kit that I keep on hand. Great value, safe, healthy, great tasting water! ## Features - Replacement cartidge for Katadyn Hiker and Hiker Pro water filter systems - Provides up to 200-gallon capacity (depending on water quality) - Removable filter protector extends cartridge life in challenging conditions - Glass-fiber element is pleated for increased surface area to handle silt and muddy water ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0007U0134 | | Best Sellers Rank | #56,602 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #353 in Replacement Under-Sink Water Filters | | Brand | Katadyn | | Brand Name | Katadyn | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 1,221 Reviews | | External Testing Certification | NSF | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00604375146440, 07612013146441 | | Included Components | Hiker Pro / Hiker replacement element, Field maintenance kit, Cleanable filter protector | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 11"D x 16"W x 3"H | | Item Highlight | Glass Fiber Microfilter Element, Fits Hiker & Hiker Pro Water Filters, Backpacking Hand Pump Cartridge | | Item Type Name | Water Filter | | Item Weight | 100 g | | Manufacturer | Katadyn | | Manufacturer Part Number | 8014644 | | Material | Plastic | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Number | 8014644 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Benefits | Reduces cysts, bacteria and sediments in your drinking water, improving its smell and flavor for up to 200 gallons. Great value, safe, healthy, great tasting water! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expensive but it works *by J***G on March 3, 2018* Expensive but it works I have the Katadyn Base Camp Water Filter which works great. I've been on a few back pack trips with different parties and it works much better than the other pump filters I have seen others use. I've used it in Colorado and New Mexico. The Katadyn Base Camp Water Filter is a gravity system. Just fill it up with water and hang it on a tree and it does all the work for you. Only complaint, the filter only seems to work for a trip or 2. Granted the New Mexico trip was a week and it filtered some nasty looking water. But I have had the same results filtering water in Colorado where it works awesome for 4-5 days (filtering what looks like clear water), then its time for a new one. Keep in mind I was filtering water for 10 people so it was in use 2-3 times a day. For a small party it should last for a few trips Katadyn Base Camp Water Filter https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007U0148/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nz/products/2260459-hiker-pro-replacement-cartridge-with-field-maintenance-kit](https://www.desertcart.nz/products/2260459-hiker-pro-replacement-cartridge-with-field-maintenance-kit) --- *Product available on Desertcart New Zealand* *Store origin: NZ* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
