Also, know this isn’t the question but FWIW, I’m using it with my Mac PowerBook as a "Time machine" back up, but I had to format it with the disk utility first. **Q: Could i use a wd usb-c cable with this?** A: It appears the My Passport and the My Passport Ultra take you to the same Questions and Reviews. Amazon seem to do this a lot and need to fix it. The Ultra supports USB-C (and seems to be more expensive). Check before you click to buy. One last thing, it's not worth paying more for the Mac versions, though you may need to reformat. **Q: I've a pc and a mac...can i format it in 2 partitions ? one mac formatted and another windows pc formatted ?** A: This should be possible, though if you want to use the drive with both mac and windows devices you would be better off formatting the partition in exFAT format, which allows both OSX and Windows read and write access. Of course, this is best done when the drive is new and has no data on it, otherwise you would lose data stored on the device! **Q: Just took delivery of this for my mac running catalina.. can't import my files(images) from icloud because it keeps asking for social media** A: It will auto back up all your files on your Mac if you connect to Time Machine, are your files in iCloud different from those on your Mac? ## Frequently Bought Together - Western Digital 1TB My Passport SSD Portable External Solid State Drive, Gray, Sturdy and Blazing Fast, Password Protection with Hardware Encryption - WDBAGF0010BGY-WESN - Case Compatible for WD 1TB 2TB 500GB My Passport SSD External Portable Drive-WDBAGF0010BRD-WESN, Carrying Storage Holder Bag Also fits for USB Cables(Case Only) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nz/products/226413652-wd-1tb-my-passport-portable-ssd-external-nvme-solid-state](https://www.desertcart.nz/products/226413652-wd-1tb-my-passport-portable-ssd-external-nvme-solid-state) --- *Product available on Desertcart New Zealand* *Store origin: NZ* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
