Very, Very Nice Product. Buy it!
This is the one you want. Very, very nice product. Case-It makes a lot of colorful fabric-covered 3" thick 3-ring binders for children. This here is very professional and gets looks. I promise someone will call you a "business man" if you have one of these. The Case-It Pad-50 is the same with no handle. I thought the handle would be bulky or get in the way bu tit hasn't. I'm glad I have it to make carrying it easy when I have my hands full, which is pretty often. The Pad-30 is nice too, but the 3-ring binder isn't removeable on that one. Before buying the Pad-40 I had the Mead City zipper binder. You can see my review for that one. Don't get it. The Case-It line is much better. In fact, this Case-It Pad-40 is IMO better than the $70 real leather ones at Staples. If I lost it I'd buy another. PROS: The textured material on the outside is very nice. The retractable handle is made of the same material and doesn't feel like it will have any issues. Unlike the fabric on the outside of the Mead City Binder, if this vinyl-ish material gets grease or anything on it, you can wipe it right off. The interior is a fabric of decent quality. On the left, upon opening the binder with the quality zipper, you have a gusset-pocket that could hold a tablet of paper. You also have another pocket for a few more papers--important documents, perhaps, because they stick out a few inches and you'll see that they're there. The lack of a calulator is not an issue. It gives you an extra elastic pocket. I use it for my receipt book but USB flash drives or a small calculator might be what it's intended for. TWO writing utensil pockets, not one. Credit card/business card slots are nice (5). There's an ID pocket too. The 3-ring binder stays in on mine, but it's removeable. I added pocketed tabbed folders. The tabs stick out a bit too much and get caught in the zipper. I use the tabs to flip pages but don't put the little papers in them anyway, so I trimmed the tabs about 1/3" as to not interfere with the zipper. Tablet holder has a nice leather-looking flap covering the top binding of the paper pad. CONS: The outside of this has no pocket, but once you see the type of material used and the padding, you'll see why (would be handy for when you don't want to unzip it, but you can't have both...there's plenty of storage inside). No calculator but this, IMO, is a PRO, because you get more storage space; and who doesn't have a calculator on their phone? UPDATE: 1.5 years later. Thing has been sitting in a hot or cold car and still looks like it was bought yesterday. I truthfully only use the thing once a week, but it's handled from 0 to 100 degree temperatures!

Literally perfect
It’s rare for me to find an item that actually covers everything I desire for it. I started with just wanting a flip back 3 ring binder. After trying the pivotal and expandable ones, I was not impressed. I figured I would have to settle on a basic Avery one until I came across this. Price - it was definitely a lot more than I intended to spend but I’m more than willing when it actually has everything I want. This is a bit pricey, but very well worth it! Quality - perfect. Very durable, lightweight but strong. 3 ring prongs work well and no strings or loose material Overall, if this type of binder is something you’re looking for, this is a great buy! I absolutely love how the 3 ring part is detachable too

Folder to hold music for chorus
Excellent folder, sturdy, zips easily. My only complaint is that the pen/pencil holders are too large and my pencils slip out.

Portable Workspace Encapsulates Complex Projects
I can see this as a great graduation/going away gift for any young person heading off to college or graduate school: the fact that it incorporates both a ring binder for looseleaf paper as Well as a staple surface to hold a 9 x 11 notepad, generous space for multiple files Plus, a smaller miscellaneous pocket, and of course the ubiquitous penholder, in some that alongside the built-in handle, turns it into a carrying case for what becomes essentially a portable home office for any one particular dedicated work This one might require. While I’m still test driving my initial such portfolio, this far it’s working out so well to keep my most daunting work materials, close at hand and well organized for my current deadline but I can already see I’ll want several of these ingenious super-size portfolios — at the very least, one each for current career, creative and community-related initiatives.

Good Quality, Attractive and Well Made
Beautiful. Well made quality item. Perfect for my husband to carry papers or folders to meet with business agents, or professionals. Streamline, easy to carry, neat and is organized with a legal pad and pockets to hold business cards and pens. Very organized-looking and smart for any business meeting.

PERFECTION!!
This binder is a rare PERFECT product!! Wife and I are team truck drivers, and have been searching for a binder to keep our permits in. Something that zips closed, has a handle, looks professional and lays flat. This binder holds all our important permits, and fits perfectly in the door pocket. It looks classy, is durable, and the zip closure feature keeps our paperwork safe from the elements when we have to carry it inside a weigh station. And the handle is just icing on the cake, it makes it super easy to pull it out from the door pocket. Every trucker should have one of these. And if it will work for a trucker, it will work for ANYONE. Highly recommend!!

A Very Random Writer's Delight
I love to write longhand. Brief thoughts, notes, idea sketches, bits of dialogue. Something about being physically connected to the paper through the pen puts me in a much more free-associative space. But it means lots of one-sheet short pieces that I desperately need to shove aside and get back to later. This is the traveling solution I've been looking for. There are two holders for pens, a number of business card slots, but not a lot of what I consider "junk features". It's simple, efficient and a joy to use. I actually put aside the easily-removable 3-ring binder as I don't need it for my current purposes, but I keep a number of colored folders in the folder holder and shove a sheets of stuff in the big slot and am just as happy as a clam. The workmanship seems really good, the textured surface is pleasant. It zips shut for security and the carry handle makes it easy to carry even with two armfuls of groceries or whatever. This is the best $30 I've ever spent on a portfolio.
