I bought this book for my child and wanted to read it first myself. It is a gripping, suspenseful story, and well told with just enough detail and description to make history come alive for the reader.

Incredible tale of courage from the view point of Col. Rose, Mjr. Hamilton, and Robert Ford told at a good pace with excellent historical references along the way.

My 10 yr old really liked this book. Got him a few from this series for summer reading and he really enjoyed it.
