I've read everything about this case and this is the best!
This book is brilliantly written and a very emotive account of what led up to the terrible tragedy. If you are interested in this case and have not read this book then you must do so. It will give you so much insight into what happened. I was in tears several times. Not sure why I had not read it before, but so glad it was recommended from the Facebook account of a supporters group for Betty.

A gift which she is thoroughly enjoying reading. Real page turner that keeps you reading through the night :) . Looking forward to it being passed down when she’s finished.Added info in the book which is missing from the series.

Notbthe whole story maybe???
Read this after seeing the Netflix series. The murder continues to fascinate and it seems hard that she has spent so many years in prison. Her husband does seem to have refused to give her a decent settlement so she could lead a new life. There was so much hate between them that it is difficult for us to get a clear picture of the characters of Betty and Dan. I really could not understand why such a rich man could not just let her go with a house and guaranteed income. She had supported him in the past through hard times. This book tells the story completely from Betty's viewpoint. The Netflix series portrays her as an attractive slim completely downtrodden woman which Betty was not, In this book a detail that the author made seemed quite telling. Why did she sign over her condominium to her boyfriend and not her children!?Why have two of her children spoken against her release at the parole board? It does seem that at the end she had an income and a condominium and was likely to have the boys depending on her behaviour. She does not seem to have been treated fairly but Dan dies not come over as a real person with good and bad traits. He is the complete villain in this book.
