A huge improvement
I grew up in a time when thermometers had to be held awkwardly under your tongue or under your armpit but I'm not really sure if they were the same thermometer or if they were washed in between uses. They took forever to use and you had to be extra careful shaking them to clear the reading so you didn't accidently hit it against the chair and break it again. When I started my family with my wife, we opted to splurge and go with the fancy ear ones like the doctors had but you still had to use them the right way. It had to be at the right angle and far enough in the ear but not too far. It was faster but it was difficult to get an accurate reading. In the time we've had it, technology has taken another jump forward and now we have thermometers that you can just point at something and it tells you instantly. Plus, it's accurate! The first thing I would say about this is that it's incredibly easy to use and very intuitive. For a forehead measurement, you do have to get close, but then you just push the button and a second later you have a reading. Not only will it tell you the degree measurement, but the large, back-lit display is color coded to help you know if you're good (green), questionable (yellow), or about to die (red). Okay, maybe "about to die" is a bit extreme but you get my point; it's super easy. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius if that appeals to you and there is a memory function that I suppose is nice, but I haven't found a use for it personally. I do however really like that it has a human mode and an object mode. In fact, the object mode was how I tested to see if it was accurate. I walked around the house and took readings for all my various thermometers and it was pretty close to all of them. Not exact, but close enough that I'm not sure if the error was with this or the other or (probably) a little of both. Actually, it was exactly the same as the Nest, but I only did one comparison there. I am convinced that this thing is all it advertises to be. Oh, that reminds me... one last selling point is that it's easy to know how to use it because the instructions are actually in English! For me, this is exactly what I was looking for and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new or upgraded thermometer.

Inconsistent
This product is not accurate at all. The batteries that came with it were sealed and yet I had to replace them with a new set because the thermometer indicated the original batteries were low. Although this is definitely not medical grade, the temperature was inconsistent and never even reached 98.7. It was also advertised as the type of thermometer that measured temperature at the wrist. The box is clearly marked that it is for the forehead only. As an owner of a business that requires daily temperature checks, I cannot recommend this product.

Fast and accurate
I'm so glad I gave this non-contact digital IR thermometer a try. It is fast and accurate. I compared it with my temporal artery thermometer and a regular oral thermometer. I took multiple readings of two family members with all three. This IR thermometer is pretty accurate and consistent. The readings are all within 0.2 degrees of the other two. It is also the fastest and takes only one second to get a reading. The IR thermometer is pretty compact and easy to use. You can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Change the subject between a human or an object. There is a memory function too. I like that the display is large and easy to read. The color-coded backlight for the 3 different temperature ranges is a really nice touch. Overall, I'm very pleased with this non-contact IR thermometer. It is fast and accurate. Very handy during this pandemic. I would recommend it.

Easy to use and accurate.
I wasn't sure how this Victor T9000 Non-Contact Digital Thermometer was going to measure up. We use a similar thermometer at work to check employees and, despite being high dollar, it's pretty worthless except for go / no-go. Fortunately, this Victor is working much better. The temp reading are pretty accurate, matching other known accurate thermometers I have. The display changes from red for implausibly low or high, to green for normal, to yellow for low grade fever, to red for above 100.4F. This is great for checking a lot of people - you don't need to know the temp unless it's not green. It's really easy to use. Point and shoot from 2-3 inches. It beeps when it has a reading, about 1 second. It turns off 30 seconds after the last reading to save the batteries. If you need to know what the reading was after it turns off, just pull the trigger to turn it back on, and it will display the last temperature reading. You can also see the last 32 readings with a little button pushing. It uses two AAA batteries. It used to be all these kinds of gizmos used the now crazy expensive 9v batteries, so this is a nice change. It also has the normal degrees F/C, and human/object modes that can be set using the buttons. My only complaint is the battery door does not close securely without fiddling. If you don't, it may open and drop the batteries on the floor. The thermometer is a solid five stars for accuracy, ease of use, and features. But only a four for build quality.
