Is this grain-free?

No, it contains wheat gluten, which is made by processing wheat and isolating the gluten. In human cuisine, concentrated gluten is used as a meat substitute as it is chewy and rich in a few proteins; it's not a complete protein, however, regardless if you're human or feline. The amount of gluten in Gravy Lovers is likely to be significant because it's listed after broth, chicken, and liver. Unfortunately manufacturers are not required to give detailed percentages, just list the ingredients in order of abundance. That means the amount of gluten could be tiny or it could be nearly a third of the dry matter. Gravy Lovers also contains a smaller amount of cornstarch-modified (whatever that means) and soy flour. For the final flourish, add some artificial flavors and coloring.

Needless to say, my cats absolutely adore the stuff.

There are many different sources, not just Amazon itself.  When the price is lower, it's usually shipped by Amazon.  Higher prices are usually shipped from other sellers.  Plus some types are becoming hard to find anywhere, even locally.  At least that is my exerience.
