Optima battery charger, works excellent!
This is what you need to maintain your Optima batteries and keep them going for years to come! I recharge mine about every 10 months and it’s been working great for years! Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to bring an Optima back to life or just maintain yours. For Optima batteries mainly but will charge any battery I think? This thing is easy to use and has worked great for 3 years for me. I love it

Versatile and easy to use
This is a very advanced and versatile charger. It's able to charge Lithium, AGM and Flooded batteries. Perhaps my favorite feature of this charger is the easy to read graphic display that shows you at a glance the state of charge on your battery and gives you an indication of how long it will take to charge a battery. It also has a boost / quick charge function to aide in faster charge times but it's not intended for engine starting. I have been using CTEK chargers for the longest time but I wanted this one for its ability to charge Litium batteries and its LCD display. I hope this charger stands the test of time because it's not inexpensive. Time will tell...

REALLY good charger
I got one of these because my neighbor let me borrow his. One of my cars had the battery completely die on it. The battery was about 5 years old so it is what I would consider near the end of it's life AND i don't drive the car a lot. I pulled the battery out and put it on this charger. It took ~12 hours for it to fully charge and go to maintenance mode. The battery has worked like an absolute champ ever since. The cost of this is slightly prohibitive/steep. But compared to the $40 ones you find at the part store... it does a lot more and performs WAY better. So it certainly lives up to the price.

The perfect car battery charger
I've used several different battery chargers with my Optima Yellow Top battery over the last few years. And they've all seriously disappointed me. One will quit charging randomly before the battery is fully charged. Another doesn't switch to trickle charging when the battery is charged, leading to possible over-charging of the battery. I'd rather not have to babysit a battery while it is charging, thank you very much. This charger doesn't have those problems. You just hook it up, select the mode you want, and walk away. It regulates voltage and current properly to both charge the Optima (or other) batteries as quickly as possible, while doing so safely. My only complaint with it is that the cable compartment at the back is just barely big enough to hold the charging cables. So it takes a while to properly fold the cable to get it to fit. Even if it was just a little bit bigger storing the cable would be quite a bit easier. But other than that, it's a fantastic charger. Now, if only the price weren't quite so high...

Wow, works great.
This charger is working well. I like the digital readout and options available like AGM, deep cycle, maintain, etc. You do have to “select” what you are trying to do but it’s a single button push in most cases. Being able to ask it the state of the battery is useful. I have a 40 year old charger that still works but bought this for a new location, I’m glad I did. I may get another and put my old one on the shelf as an emergency backup, that’s how much I like it.

Smart Charger that actually tells you what is going on
This is an excellent charger! Works great on my yellow top, my secondary standard battery, my mower, and soon I bet it'll see the Harley battery. I'm charging all of them with this now. Real simple to use. Connect the battery, plug it into the wall and push a button or two. It tells you the battery life after a 5 mins evaluation, then starts charging and tells you what amp and voltage it is at. I'm super impressed. I bought this to have a nice charger around, and the guys at Optima charged a battery for me at a car show years ago with this same charger. Gave it back to me in just over an hour and said I was good to go, and that battery got me through the rest of the show!

Nice charger
So it still fires up and charges the battery.

So nice but.....expensive
Nice charger and easy to use. Only this don’t have fast charge to start the engine. This design was to keep battery from over charging to protect any size of batteries. I really like the style that look cool and easy to understand after reading the manual to learn how to operate properly. Also price is expensive without fast charge for emergency needs.

A must have for AGM batteries, great to maintain them on a custom car not used that often

I feel the build quality is more delicate than a tool of this expense should be. Buttons and gauge look tender and storage door would not take much to break. Don't bang this one around in the garage.

Really great charger and maintainer. Very well built and lots of features. Has great onboard storage of cords and keeps them nice and neat. Cords are made of good grade rubber and do not crack under the coldest day. Display is easy to read and the charger is not complicated to understand. I recommend everyone gets one they are a life saver.

Works as advertised, but, as other mentioned, very expensive for what it does. Here are some PROs and CONs I experienced with it. PROs: It does seem to moderate the amperage correctly -- it was able to properly charge both my car and motorcycle batteries. The one defining feature of the Optima chargers are that it provides you with a good indicating of the current status and what it is doing. It will inform you the level of charge of the battery and what step in the charging process it is performing. You can also get a reading of the battery voltage which is convenient. It does not spark when you connect the battery, but I think just about every modern charger has this feature. It does have a slip resistant rubber bottom. There is very convenient cable management and a storage compartment in the back for the clamps. It is backed by a generous 3-year warranty, which is atypical, but I have not needed to use it so far. FYI: I've used it for a couple weeks now and charged about 4 batteries of varying health, before writing this review. CONs: The build quality is OK, but the plastics seems very cheap. I don't think it would take a drop without breaking. This doesn't bold well for typical use in a garage. It is also very light, which can be considered either a good or bad thing. It would have been better to give a bit more length with the power cord -- I would estimate that (didn't measure) the cord is about 5 feet and I found that somewhat annoying working on two cars in a garage. (Note that the manual also warns you to avoid using an extension cord). Maybe 8-10 feet instead would have been very nice. It wasn't much of a problem for me, but it is a bit bulky. In summary, if you NEED to charge a battery that is dead that other chargers can't charge, it might be worth it. (Although I was able to charge my dead battery, the battery would not hold charge for long, so it was toast -- not the fault of the charger in any way).

looks and feels like a good unit. Seems to do well on the Optima batteries. A little expensive
