ODL EZ14SCANH 14" Tubular Skylight

Great quality , easy weekend job. A little expensive but well worth the money. Thinking of installing more

The package arrived quickly and undamaged.The skylight was a little tricky to install because I had no access to the attic, but it was still possible to install it, just without taping the tubes together.The amount of light naturally depends a lot on the weather outside - if it is sunny then it gives a lot of light (comparable to 200W incandescent), but don't expect much on overcast days (I live in Seattle!). It still lightens up the dark corners, so I am pretty happy with my purchase.Some people on the internet were complaining about the bluish light - I don't see it at all. This skylight produces pure daylight, which is bluish only if compared to incandescent bulbs.

About 10 years ago, when I built my house, I installed 4 ODL tubular skylights. Although they were difficult to install, They were worth it given how much light they add to the home. I have recommended them to several people after that experience. During a recent addition to my home I added 5 more of these tubes. As I finished the installation I found that the quality of these has dropped significantly. I found that the factory crimped rings for rotating the angles had either not been crimped much at all, or they had trimmed enough metal off to not make a solid connection. I would imagine this was done in an effort to increase profits by a couple dollars on every ten thousand or so they sell. I had one of these fail at 3 different joints while trying to align and install it. There is nothing like being twisted into a pretzel in a hot attic trying to reassemble one of these that was constructed with such poor quality. Even though I was able to get them back together, I would imagine that these are basically being held together with tape at this point. After this experience I would hesitate before recommending this product to anyone in the future.

Easy to install. I have a very dark living room and installed 3 of these in various locations. They put out excellent light. People are surprised they are skylights and not lamps. I highly recommend this.

Delivered fast and in good condition. The unit is as expected. Great instructions and it was installed in about 3 hours. It adjusted easily to my roof pitch. Now have light in the garage.

The product was dented on the inside of the tube where the reflective surface was. It adds a little distortion to the light when you look up into it but wasn't enough to return it. I bought this for my mother's bathroom. It does a wonderful job lighting the space from dawn until dusk. The sub-contractor had never installed one before and was a bit nervous about it. But he said it went in easily and we were all happy with the final results! Here on Amazon again to order one for my closet. Hope it arrives undamaged and the quality has not gone down.

this skylight is the same quality as others with one exception,it cheaper then home depot,menards or lowes. delivery was quick. I'm sure once I install it will be very much to my liking.
