Organic Ohia Lehua Blossom Raw Hawaiian Honey, Single Floral Variety by Big Island Bees (Large 47 oz Glass Jar)

I have enjoyed for years Big Island Bees’ raw organic Ohia Lehua Blossom honey for its delicate distinct flavor. The crystallized honey spreads smoothly on toasts and melts easily in hot beverages. My local grocery store who carried the brand went out of business so I have been looking for a seller on Amazon. I’ve had a great experience buying from ‘Buying with Aloha’ and their customer service staff is the best.

WOW! Some of the tastiest honey I have ever had. I bought it for the emergency shelf, but once opened, this barely lasted 2 weeks, as we couldn't get enough. Really, really, really good honey. Only thing better would be if they had it with the comb.

We recently visited Hawaii where we purchased this large jar of local Hawaiian honey at Costco. It is fantastic!! The flavor is light and refreshing. The whole family loved it. When we got back home, I was thrilled to see that I could buy it on Amazon. Just bought a jar for ourselves and a second jar as a father's day gift for my son-in-law who is a tea drinker.

A special honey with excellent taste. I seems to have a lot of pollen in it. Not very sweet. Whether you like it or not depends on personal preferences, but this one is certainly special (and relatively few honeys taste special), so buy a little jar and try it.

Who gives this honey 1 or 2 stars??? I guess if you like the syrupy stuff that comes in a plastic teddybear, then DON"T buy this one. It's the real deal. I am a honey fanatic and have tried honey from all over the world. This one is one of my all time favorites. I've ordered it a number of times from amazon and the quality is always great. It is a raw honey that is not "creamed" (a process for some thick honeys) but is very thick, as thick as a creamed honey. It is not as sweet as some honeys, but of course has a high sweetness, and is also very floral, a touch saline, and very textured and layered. You can eat this straight, with a little cheese (great with pecorino) or just on toast.

Always delicious, maybe my 6 or 7 time ordering. The last order the top was a little loose, didn’t open up or waste any ho why. I love this as a drizzle on fruit and cottage cheese.

The product 100% honestly smelled like the strongest stench of Black Truffles upon opening the jar! I was in Hawaii just last month where I visited their farm, did the tour, fell obsessively in love with the Vanilla flavored one which was thick in texture and had a smooth vanilla flavor. What I’ve received today wasn’t it! Left the jar open to air out, the strong scent dissipated after a while (Still has a faint truffle scent) but upon tasting it could also taste that truffle flavor. My theory is this... wherever they source their vanilla from must’ve been near truffles and absorbed the flavors?! Nothing else makes any sense. Mind boggling. Guess I’ll have to miss out on my favorite honey.

I enjoy this honey. It's a bit on the sweet side for me but I'm adding it to my teas and over my Greek yogurt. But I must say that my favorite honeys are the ones from Greece that are from sage or thyme or pine or several combinations. These are a bit savory, which I really like. But if you're after a sweet honey, this is an excellent honey. Nothing bland about this with its subtle flavors of exotic flowers. Also I wouldn't cook with this honey, as I do with the more savory Greek honeys, because it's too fragile in flavor.

Very expensive. Would like to purchase larger size, like a tub size. When I first started buying this honey 40 years ago, it was around $10.00 for a 5lb. tub. Although back then it wasn't certified. Finest raw Honey available.
